6 months later...
After the events that had occurred Jess found herself showing up at 'Family Video' with Steve and Robin, she wasn't looking for a job but she just wanted to be there for emotional support. Steve pulled his car up into the parking lot of the video store with Jess and Robin, she had a hold of both Steve and her resumes. ''You put your mum down as a reference?'' she exclaimed, getting out of the car wearing a black shirt, messy bun and jeans.''Yeah, why not? She's like super well respected,'' Steve replied, getting out and locking the car with his white shirt with striped sides, a red puffer vest, jeans and his usual Nike trainers.
''You're such a dingus,'' Robin rolled her eyes as Steve opened the door for her.
''Hey Robin, why don't you come up with another nickname for little Stevie boy here,'' Jess laughed, going through the door and squishing Steve's cheeks on the way in.
''Okay, moron, idiot, nincompoop,'' Robin replied.
''I hate you both,'' Steve rolled his eyes and headed into the store himself.
Jess beamed at all the shelves of movies, she wished she could just borrow them all.
''Uh, just to be clear we weren't fired, you know the mall burned down and, like, killed a bunch of people,'' Robin exclaimed to the man at the front desk. Jess didn't know who he was, quite frankly he seemed to be giving her weird creepy looks.
''Thanks for sharing, didn't know,'' the man blankly replied. ''Three favourite movies, go.'' He pointed at Robin.
''Uh...'The apartment,' 'Hidden Fortress,' Children of paradise,' ''Robin replied to the man. He nodded agreeing before pointing a finger at Steve.
''You...go.''
''Favourite movies?'' Steve questioned, having not actually thought of anything.
''Did I stutter?'' the man named Keith exclaimed.
''Uh...animal house for sure...umm...'' Steve trailed off and Jess just face palmed.
''Eyes on me, Harrington.''
''Yeah...uh Star Wars,'' Steve straight up said.
''A new hope?'' Keith questioned.
''A new what now?''
''Which Star Wars?''
''The one with the teddy bears, duh,'' Steve said, making a weird alien noise.
''He means return of the Jedi, the best one,'' Jess said.
''Yeah that one...oh that movie...the movie that just came out the one with the Delorean and Alex P. Keaton and he's trying to bang his mum....the time...yeah those are my top three classics.''
Keith just looked him weirdly before pointing at Jess. ''You, go,'' he said.
''Oh, I'm not here for a job,'' Jess implied.
''Don't worry all you would need to do is sit there and look pretty,'' Keith smirked. Jess cringed at his gesture.
''Whoa dude she's my girlfriend, calm down,'' Steve defended.
''But if you must know my three favourite movies are 'Grease,' 'Risky Business,' and 'Class of 1984.' Three of my favourite actors in too,'' Jess replied.
Shit, why didn't I think of those? Jess and I used to watch them all the time Steve thought to himself.
''All right, you two start Monday,'' he pointed at Jess and Robin and then pointed at Steve. ''You start never.''
''Will you just umm...will you give us a minute?'' Robin whispered to Steve.
''Why?'' Steve asked.
''Steve, come on let's look for a movie for tonight or a TV show, see if any more episodes of 'Family Ties' are available,'' Jess exclaimed. Steve sighed and walked over to the shelves to look for something to watch with his girlfriend for their next movie night.
''All right, you have to understand, Keith, I know his taste is a bit pedestrian, but dingus has other qualities,'' Robin explained.
''He's a douchebag of the highest order, Robin,'' Keith shot back.
''Hey, he's not like that anymore,'' Jess shouted at Keith.
''Yeah, right,'' Keith rolled his eyes.
''He was a bit of a prick to us in high school, I'll grant you that, but he remains...a total chick magnet. He's already got his girl so that means all these ladies will be for you,'' Robin explained.
''Yeah okay, and this is relevant to me how? What's the catch?'' he asked.
''Uh, Earth to Keith, the ladies will come in just to see him. They'll come in in droves. Droves, Keith. We sold so much ice cream, they had to get a second shipment in from Michigan. Goddamn Michigan, Keith. And these ladies... These ladies are hot. They're so very hot. And there are too many of them for little Steve. He needs assistance. He needs your assistance, Keith,'' Robin rambled.
''What's in it for you, you got a thing for him or something?'' he asked.
Suddenly Steve tripped over a cut out of Phoebe Cates in 'Fast times at Ridgemont High.' ''Goddam this is...'' he hummed before realising who it was. Jess just rolled her eyes and laughed at her boyfriend's stupidity.
''We're just, um...we're just friends,'' Robin said.
''Oh! Fast Times. Fast Times. Ever heard of it? Top three for me, Keith,'' Steve said as Robin and Jess just burst into laughter.
Jess and Steve showed up to the Byers household to help them move with El, it felt like yesterday when she had first made friends with Jonathan and it felt like yesterday when Will had gone missing. And now her friends were moving away, she pulled Jonathan into a massive embrace that he gratefully returned. ''I'm going to miss you,'' she exclaimed.
''Me too, Jess me too,'' he exclaimed. ''Let's take a picture so we can remember our moment together.''
Jess nodded and Nancy went to join them, and with that Jonathan placed his camera onto a tripod and put it onto timer mode. Jess, Steve, Nancy and Jonathan all got into position, Jess held up the peace sign as the picture took. ''I'll print it and get it to you soon,'' Jonathan said.
''Thank you, Jonathan,'' Jess smiled.
