The four of them rushed down to Hawkins National Laboratory, Jess's eyes danced around looking for any sign of her brother's brown curly locks, she sighed in relief when she saw him sitting on the edge of a van and rushed over to hug him. She cupped his cheeks in her hands, moving them side to side as she checked for any injuries. Dustin raised his hands up to hers and pulled them down, holding them. ''I'm fine Jess,'' he exclaimed, giving her a massive hug.

Jess smiled and hugged back, that's when it hurt her. ''Where's El?'' she asked, now grabbing her brother's shoulders.

''She's gone Jess, she sacrificed herself for us,'' he replied.

Jess felt like someone had pushed a hand through her chest, grabbed her heart and squished it so easily between their fingers, hearing this information hurt her. The young girl had warmed up to Jess quickly and it hurt Jess to even think about how it would crush Mike's soul to see El sacrifice herself.

The next thing she knew Jess was inside of the hospital, her head rested up against Steve's shoulder, Steve looked down at the young teen he once had a crush on; he pressed his thumb to her forehead as he removed a strand of her brown locks out of her face. She looked so beautiful and peaceful when she was asleep. Suddenly loud voices filled the place but Jess however did not wake up, she was exhausted from the eventful things she'd been doing in the past few weeks, Steve gave her a small nudge gesturing for her to wake up, she finally did and rubbed the sleep starting to form in her green eyes. ''He's up, if you want to go see him,'' Steve suggested. Jess shot up and ran into Will's hospital room.

''Hey kid, you all right?'' the chief asked Steve.

''Yeah I guess,'' Steve sighed, staring into the room that Jess was in. He smiled when she saw him hug Will, he found it so beautiful that his best friend cared for not just her brother but his friends too.

''You should tell her,'' Hopper exclaimed, nudging Steve in the arm.

''I can't, I doubt she even likes me back I mean she punched me in the face,'' Steve told the chief.

''Well from what I've heard you deserved it, listen I know Henderson is crazy about you. I mean when you two were younger all she ever did was act flirty around you, in the police stations she would ruffle your hair and give you kisses on the cheek, that's not a friendship that's more than a friendship. That's a crush,'' Hopper explained.

''I suppose,'' Steve sighed. If only he could tell Jess just how he felt but it wouldn't work out. When Jess came out the hospital room and Dustin behind her, Steve's eyes perked up and he stood up as the two started to walk out the doors. ''Hey, Henderson's want a ride?'' he asked.

''What?'' Jess questioned, tilting her head in confusion.

''Home, do you want me to take you both home?'' he asked.

Jess just shrugged and then nodded, Steve smiled and pulled his keys out of his pocket and walked down to his car with Jess getting in the front and Dustin in the back. The three drove down the road to the Henderson household, Dustin was the first to run through the door and just as Jess was about to head inside Steve called out to her. ''Jess,'' he shouted.

''Yeah?'' she questioned.

Steve tried his best to think of something to say but nothing smooth or interesting came out of his mouth, maybe if he was confident enough he would tell her how he felt. ''Uh...have a good night. Hang out soon?''

''Night Stevie and yeah sure we can hang out,'' she smiled, waving down to him as Steve waved back, watching her head inside the house and shut the door behind her. Steve switched on his radio as he took off back down the road. 'Another one bites the dust' by Queen played on the radio, he tapped his hands on the wheel in time to the beat as the night went on.

AN: another short one. I'm really sorry about the short chapters but the plot lines of each episode is hard to write but here's season one finished.
