The small group arrived at a big open grassy field and everyone got out, Jess went to go sit with Nancy and Max. Jess was surprised as to how badass her best friend had become, she remembered when Nancy was nothing more than innocent little girl who got good grades and studied like crazy to keep up with those good grades. Jess watched as Nancy cut the end of her shotgun off. ''Is this legal?'' Max perked up.
''Actually I think its felony,'' Nancy replied.
''Right,'' Max nodded.
''But it guarantees one thing, I won't miss,'' Nancy exclaimed.
Jess looked up to see her boyfriend and Robin making their weapons, she rushed over to join them. ''It just doesn't make sense,'' Steve said.
''What doesn't make sense?'' Robin asked.
''That was Dan Shelter, he graduated like two years ago,'' Steve replied.
''So?''
''So, he's in college which means he was visiting for spring break. Fast times was returned, like I don't know a week ago? Right? Unless, she's got some horn dog brother we don't know about which is possible or she's just really into Judge Reinhold,'' Steve explained.
''Seriously?'' Jess raised an eyebrow.
''Steve?'' Robin said.
''What?''
''I don't care, I don't understand why you do either with everything that's going on. Honestly, this feels like a perfect time for that little pull of the rug because...in the face of the world ending, the stakes of my love life feel spectacularly low,'' Robin explained. ''I just have this terrible gnawing feeling that...it might not work out for us this time.''
''You think we shouldn't be doing this?'' Jess questioned.
''I think we're mad fools the lot of us but...but if we don't stop him, who will?'' Robin exclaimed.
''True,'' Jess nodded.
''We have to try, right?''
''Yeah, to killing Vecna,'' Steve said, clinking his of the Molotov cocktail with Jess's.
''Slash Henry,'' Jess said, clinking with Robin.
''Slash one,'' Robin finished, clinking with both Jess and Steve.
Building their weapons was one thing and now they had to actually go on and save the world once again. Jess took a deep breath as she pressed her head up against the window, playing with her fingers nervously as Steve drove the camper van down the road to the Creel House, Jess could sense Steve's eyes boring into the back of her head, she didn't turn to look at him as the camper van came to a stop and Max, Lucas and Erica hopped out. Jess hopped out after them, tears starting to well up in her eyes, she pulled the three into a massive embrace. ''Be safe, okay? I don't want any of you getting hurt, Max, you're brave and fearless and I know you've got this, Lucas you're stubborn yet you pick a good fight and Erica you're sassy but it suits you. I want all of you coming to greet me all in one piece, all right? I don't want I'd do if one of you suddenly didn't come back. I love you all,'' Jess explained, tears trickling down her cheeks.
The trio returned Jess's hug and Max just smiled, she saw the older girl as an older sister that would always protect her. ''I love you too, we will be fine, I promise,'' Max told Jess.
''I sure hope so, good luck you three,'' Jess nodded before pulling her friends into another warm embrace before getting back into the camper van once again.
The little group got back into the camper van, they arrived back at Eddie's trailer where the gate and makeshift rope was.
''Okay, I wanna go over the plan one last time,'' Nancy exclaimed.
