Jess sat in the back seat of the car as her boyfriend and best friend that she made over the past year drove down the road to school, Robin seemed to be complaining about something and messing around doing her makeup. ''Relax, Robin you look beautiful,'' Jess told her friend but Robin just payed no attention.

''Cut me some slack, please, it is 7:00 in the morning, we have the stupid pep rally and I woke up looking like a corpse,'' Robin complained, touching her face.

''You're worried about a pep rally? You expect us to believe that?'' Steve questioned.

''Yeah so?''

''So we both know what this is about, I'm not buying that bullshit. This is about Vickie.''

''Absolutely not,'' Robin rolled her eyes.

''It is. You know what else?'' Steve challenged his friend.

Robin rolled her eyes. ''I really don't care...''

''You gotta stop pretending to be someone else when you're around her. You just gotta be yourself,'' Steve advised her.

''Wow that's some pretty good advice, Stevie boy,'' Jess teased.

''Learned from the best,'' he winked at his girlfriend through the review mirror as she laughed and playfully rolled her eyes.

''You're literally quoting me to me, you do realise that,'' Robin exclaimed.

''Oh, my god can we just settle this...look Robin you look beautiful as always. Vickie likes you, I know she does and if you can't see that then you're blind as a bat, help me out here Steve,'' Jess exclaimed, leaning in between her boyfriend and best friend.

''Yeah, Jess is right I mean Vickie literally returned fast times, paused it at 53 minutes and 5 seconds. Do you know who pauses fast times at that time? People who like boobies, Robin,'' Steve continued on basically from what Jess was saying.

Jess just put her head into her hands as she rolled her eyes so far back into her head. ''Eww gross, don't say boobies,'' Robin exclaimed.

''Yeah that's gross, Steve,'' Jess now laughed.

''Boobies,'' Steve emphasised. ''I mean it's not a big deal, I like boobies, I think Jessie bear likes boobies, you like boobies...Vickie likes boobies definitely.''

The three arrived at Hawkins high, Jess stepped out, then Steve and Robin. ''All right, I'll see you after school for the basketball game,'' Steve exclaimed, pulling his girlfriend in for a kiss.

Jess deepened the kiss as they went at it hot and heavy, making out until she pulled away. ''See you, love you booby lover,'' she teased.

Steve just laughed at his girlfriend's stupid but hilarious joke and left for family video. Jess walked down the path to school, it was her senior year and knowing that her little brother would be at school with her made her want to protect him at all costs but she knew he had made friends with Eddie Munson, he was a cool dude but was known as a freak to basically everyone. Jess noticed a certain red head step off the big yellow bus, she had headphones hooked over her ears connecting to the Walkman that was hooked onto her blue jeans and Jess wandered over to her and patted her on the shoulder. Max rolled her eyes when she thought it was Miss Kelley wanting to check up on her but when her gaze met Jess's she unhooked the headphones from her around her ears and dropped them to her neck, Jess could hear the faint angelic voice of Kate Bush's 'Running up that hill(a deal with god)' through the headphones. ''Hey, Max how are you holding up after...well you know?'' Jess asked, looking into Max's ocean blue eyes.

''Yeah, I'm fine,'' was all Max could muster out as she hooked the headphones back over her ears and walking away. Jess sighed, she knew the young red head was lying but she didn't want to pry so she didn't say anything and just headed inside the building of the school. The basketball pep rally was today of course and she was super excited to see Lucas play and cheer for him with Steve.
