In the shadow of Hermione Granger.

First date

Friday January 1st

Ginny is still laying on my stomach, but I can't sleep anymore, we agreed yesterday, that we should go on a real date today. I am too excited to sleep, I look at the watch on Ginny's wall, the time is eight forty-five am, its too early to wake up, I could draw, but then I would need to move Ginny and she is sleeping so soundly, I start to unbraid the braids I did in Ginny's hair before going to sleep, I did five tiny braids and I carefully unbraid them without waking Ginny. I think to myself: "Was this meant to be? Even after we hurt two people we also care about. Was it worth it? I guess it was, I love Ginny I always have, but now I know what being in love feels like, and it is truly the most incredible feeling" Ginny moves a little and then sits up, rub the sleep out of her eyes and says: "Morning, did you sleep well?"
"Yeah I did, how about you?"
Ginny: "I slept incredible, you make me feel so safe"
I can't stop smiling and says: "What is our date plans for today?"
Ginny: "I was thinking, going for a long walk in the fields"
"That's a good idea, just sad there is no snow outside"
Ginny: "Yeah, that's a shame"
"Shall we go downstairs?"
Ginny: "Yeah"
We get dressed, I put on a white fair isle sweater and a pair of black jeans and my brown boots. We go downstairs and no-one is in the kitchen I stand face to face with Ginny, and we kiss and this time it feels even better than before. I know exactly how we fit together, my hands on her waist, her hands on my shoulders, the pressure of her lips on mine. I hear something rattling, Ginny turns her head and so does I, and George is standing in the kitchen with a cup of tea in his hands he winks at us and says: "Morning" in a teasing tone, and Ginny and I let go of each other. Just then everyone else enters the kitchen and we sit down to eat breakfast, the only ones who aren't here are Ron and Hermione. Molly looks around and says: "Where is Hermione and Ron?" Fred and George giggles, and Molly says: "Know that you two thinks its so funny, you can go up and wake them" They get up without saying a word and Ginny chuckles and leans in to my ear and whispers: "I wouldn't want to go in on them"
I chuckle with her and whisper back: "I have done that once, it was pretty awkward"
Ginny: "Really, when?"
"It was back at school"
Ginny: "Did they see you?"
"Hermione did"
Ginny: "Awkward"
"It really was"
Molly clears her throt and says: "Girls start eating the others will be down in just a second"
I place some eggs, sausages and toast on my plate and start eating.
Not long after Fred, George, Ron, and Hermione comes down and sit down in silence.

After breakfast Ginny says: "Harlow and I will go for a walk, we will be back later"
Molly: "well you two have fun then"
On the way outside I quickly grab my jacket and my beanie and we run outside hand in hand. Outside the door we see that everything is covered in fine powdered snow. We start walking and when we are long enough from the house I reach down to make a snowball but Ginny gets ahead of me and throws a snowball at me, it hits me on the back of my shoulder, I make my snowball even bigger and throw it after Ginny, I miss and she takes a handful snow and press it together to a firm tiny snowball and throw it after me, I jump out the way just in time and the I start running after her, she just laughs and runs away, I keep chasing her. I stop for a moment and Ginny teases me: "Aww are you tired already?" I laugh and run after her with the biggest snowball yet, she wasn't ready for it, so she stumbles, and I tackle her. We both land in the snow laughing Ginny takes some snow and stuff in into my jacket, I squeal and try to get the snow out, I need to take my jacket of and shake it to get all of the snow out, Ginny just keep laughing at me, so I take my jacket on again and she's laying on her back laughing at me, so I see an opportunity, so I take it. I sit astride on her so she can't move, she wiggles and tries to escape but I hold her down. I cant stop laughing at her struggle, but she laughs too, and then she lays still for a second, takes a handful of snow, and smash it in my face, I use both my hand to get the snow away and Ginny takes the opportunity to take my hands and turn me around so she is on top. I just lay still and watch her laughing, and then she leans down and I feel her warm breath on my skin. I look at her perfectly formed lips, she licks her lips slowly and then she bites her lower lip, and at that point I can't take it anymore, so I lift my head and kiss her, our bodies pressed together heatedly against the cold snow breathing heavily as our lips pressed together, her lips were warm and soft, they parted slightly allowing my tongue to slip inside. The cold snow feels warm under me, with Ginny on top. Out of breath Ginny sits up and then gets off me, she helps me up and says: "Lets head back and make some hot chocolate"
"Yeah, but you might want to fix your hair just a little"
Ginny: "What?" Ginny tries to make her hair flat again, but she just makes it worse, so I laugh and say: "Here, let me help"
I comb trough her hair with my fingers making it flatter than before. And then I say: "There that's better"
Ginny: "Thanks"
"No problem, come on let's head back it's getting cold"

In the entrance we take our wet coats and boots off and go to the kitchen. When we enter the smell of hot chocolate fills the room and we hear Molly says: "Hi girls, was it a good walk?"
Ginny: "Yes it was, thanks mom"
Molly hands us each a cup of hot chocolate and says: "Here I thought you might need it, its cold outside"
"Thank you Molly."
Molly: "You are welcome dear"
We sit down in the Livingroom where Harry is sitting all alone and Ginny asks: "Harry, where is Hermione and Ron?"
Harry looks up confused as if he was in his own thoughts and says: "They went upstairs after breakfast, I haven't seen them since"
Ginny: "Well then I think we all know what they are doing"
Ginny turns to me and smirks and I say a bit disgusted: "Ginny, shut up, I don't want to think about my sister and your brother doing that"
Harry: "Me neither"
"Hey Harry are you okay?"
I sit down beside him and see that his eyes looks more tired than usual and he says: "I guess, you all have someone, and I feel a little lonely"
"I understand, do you want a hug?"
He nods and I hug him, when I turn around I can't see Ginny anywhere, I know she will be back in a minute so I stay with Harry.

After a while Hermione and Ron comes downstairs, and I pull Hermione to the side, and she says: "What's up?"
"Harry seems sad."
Hermione: "well he is going through a break up"
"You know what I mean, you and Ron doesn't help him either"
Hermione: "Are you saying I'm a bad friend?"
"Not at all, maybe a little yeah, I am happy that you have Ron but that doesn't mean that you can just leave Harry out"
Hermione: "I didn't realise that we were doing that, thank you, I will do better, can you maybe help me?"
"Sure, with what"
Hermione: "How can Ron and I do better?"
"I think Ron and Harry should have a day alone"
Hermione: "So they can get in trouble, no way"
"Come on out here, how can they get in trouble"
Hermione sighs: "Maybe you are right"
"And then you me and Ginny can have a girls day"
Hermione: "One condition though"
"And what is that"
Hermione: "You and Ginny are adorable, but if I can't be with Ron then you two have to set a timer on your relationship"
"That's fair, and what does that involve?"
Hermione: "No kissing"
"We can do that"
Hermione looks sceptical: "Can you? I saw you from the window upstairs, you two in the snow"
"Of course we can"
Hermione: "Prove it"
"How?"
Hermione: "Find Ginny and stand close to each other without kissing"
"Then I want you to do the same with Ron"
Hermione: "Deal, but you and Ginny first"
"Good, I will find her, have you seen her?"
Hermione: "Maybe in her room?"
"Okay"
I go upstairs to Ginny's room and I hear something, I get to her door and what I hear is Ginny crying, I go into the room and as I enter she wipes her tears away, I sit down beside her and says worried: "Are you okay?"
Ginny sniffles: "No, not really"
"Please tell me"
Ginny: "I see how sad Harry is and its my fault"
"Then its my fault too"
Ginny: "No it isn't, not entirely, I broke up with him, and I kiss you in front of him, I would be mad if someone did that to me"
"I understand that, be we've kissed once in front of him and he did say it was okay"
Ginny: "But what if he lied?"
"Then he lied and that's fine"
Ginny: "But..."
"Its going to be okay"
Ginny: "There is another thing"
"Yeah"
Ginny: "I think it is going a little fast"
"Thank god, you feel that way, I think the same"
Ginny: "You do, I think we kiss a little too often, but I don't even think that it is awkward, or anything"
"I think so too, so maybe we shouldn't stop kissing completely, but let every kiss come naturally"
Ginny: "Would you be up for that?"
"Yeah of course"
Ginny: "Because, we only had our first date today, and I've lost count on how many time we have kissed"
"Twelve"
Ginny: "What"
"We've kissed twelve times if we count the practise kiss"
Ginny: "You kept count" She laughs a little and I feel stupid for keeping count
"Yeah, kind of"
Ginny: "Its cute"
"So I talked with Hermione"
Ginny: "Yeah?"
"She has a challenge for us, but only if you are up for it"
Ginny: "Okay, what is the challenge about?"
"We have to stand close to each other not kiss"
Ginny: "I hope you said, that she should do the same with Ron right, because they can't their fingers to themselves"
"I did tell her that"
Ginny: "Good, so lets do the challenge"
"Are you sure"
Ginny: "Heck yeah, I'm always up for a challenge and especially if I can beat one of my brothers"
"Then lets do it"
