Wednesday January 20th

The next day at breakfast I sit down next to Lavender, and I ask her: "Were you in my room yesterday after dinner?"

Lavender: "I was not in your room I was getting Sophie she forgot that we had agreed to meet after dinner"
"And can she confirm that?"
Lavender: "Yeah of course"
Lavender turns to Sophie and says: "I was getting you yesterday after you forgot our agreement right?"
Sophie: "Yes that's right"
"Okay, so you didn't see who ruined my painting?"
Sophie: "No, sorry, it was ruined when I came back"
"Where anyone else in the room when you left?"
Hermione: "Harlow, leave it"
"I can't I need to know"
Hermione: "Why?"
"I just do okay"
Hermione: "Okay, Lilly is sick today so you can't speak with her"
"Okay"
After classes I go to Lilly's room and knock, she opens and says: "Harlow, hi what's up?"
"I was just wondering where you were after dinner yesterday?"
Lilly: "I was in my room that I felt sick"
"Okay, so you weren't in my room?"
Lilly: "Only shortly I was looking for Sophie, but she wasn't there, so I left"
"Okay"
Lilly: "But I did see your art work on the table, its beautiful"
"I'll leave now then"
Lilly: "One thing, Harlow, I am so sorry"
"For what?"
Lilly: "I accidently knocked over your cup with water and paintbrushes"
"Okay, it was you"
Lilly: "I am so sorry"
"Its okay, but it doesn't make sense, was it you that painted over it?"
Lilly: "Yes, I tried to dry it and then the paint was everywhere so I tried to fix it, but the brush I used had some undried paint on that I didn't notice so that paint came on your painting I am so sorry"
Lilly is crying now and I don't know what I feel about it so I say: "Its okay, but anything like this ever happens again, please tell me"
Lilly: "I will, but it will never happen again I promise"
I hug her and say: "Okay, I'll leave you to it"
I get back to my room and say to Hermione: "It was Lilly"
Hermione looks confused and says: "What was Lilly?"
"The painting"
Hermione: "You talked with her?"
"Yeah I did, she told me that it was an accident"
Hermione: "Okay that's good, so you are good?"
"Yeah, I just need to remake the painting"
Hermione: "Maybe you don't need to remake it, maybe you just make something new or present something old?"
"I could do that but I don't know, now I need some sleep"
Hermione: "Okay, goodnight"
