"Thank you, Your Grace."

Elaina stood in front of the door, that would determine the outcome of her future. Her heart beating a bit quicker than usual, she scrapped a bit of skin off her finger and held onto a large book in her arms, before knocking on the large doors ahead of her.

A second passed by, and then two. The silence rang in her ears, her hands getting sweaty. Elaina had never felt like throwing up more now than ever. The knight stared at her in confusion but sent her a small smile letting her know he would announce her to the king whenever she was ready.

Elaina softly smiled at the man, before nodding her head. The knight nodded back and opened the door in front of her, going in first to announce her presence to Viserys who had been messing around with his miniature statues.

"The Lady Elaina Hightower, Your Grace,"

Elaina walked in nervously, staring at Viserys sunken expression. She did her best to send him a comforting smile and walked closer to the king. She paused in front of him and bowed her head slightly to show him respect.

"What is it, Elaina?" Viserys questioned the young girl, before looking over her dress.

Elaina wore a dark green dress, that fell from her shoulder complimenting her collarbones. A golden necklace lay still upon her neck, with small green gemstones as accents. Her hair lay in waves behind her back, with a few pieces of her hair braided and pulled out of her face.

"I thought I might come and look in on you, Your Grace," Elaina responded softly but suddenly felt the judgemental eyes of the knight behind her. Viserys continued to stare at her in confusion, not fully understanding why she was there.

Viserys had known that Elaina would check up on him, as they both shared the traumatic experience of the queen dying before their eyes. He knew the young girl had grieved just as much as he did, with how close she had gotten to his Aemma.

"I brought a book," Elaina continued, sensing the knight behind her finally leave and close the door behind her.

"That's very kind, thank you," Viserys said, sending the girl a small smile.

"It's a favorite of mine," Elaina said, gulping down her nerves.

"I do know how passionate you are for the histories," Elaina continued.

"Yes... I am," Viserys replied as not an ounce of enthusiasm was found, and then continued on with his little hobby.

Elaina sighed before sitting across from him, glancing around at the mini design of the kingdom. She smiled slightly, seeing the detailed and intricate design of the palace. A moment of silence washed over them before Elaina breathed in deeply to gain the confidence she needed.
