"Even if you aren't of Targaryen blood, you carried four Targaryen bloodlines in you,"

"Mother, the children want to see you,"

Helaena's soft voice rang into Elaina's room, as the Queen had been brushing her hair neatly and patting her dress in place.

Elaina, with a gentle smile, ushered her daughter to open her door further as three tiny figures ran into the room. Giggling and smiling as they ran straight for their grandmother.

Helaena scolded them quietly from behind, before sitting on her mother's bed to watch her children speak nonsense to her mother.

"Oh, have I missed you three greatly!" Elaina greeted, bringing her silver-haired grandchildren in her arms.

It has been six years since that terrible night, and in those years, Elaina had gotten stronger and more confident in her position as Queen.

Yet, her heart will always soften for the people in her kingdom. Venturing out to the city to help the poor and sickly, with her children and now grandchildren.

Elaina had come to a shock when Aegon and Helaena approached her regarding the prospects of marriage. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors. She grew suspicious with their words, knowing Helaena did not want to marry, much less to her brother.

The brother and sister, held a deep secret within them, until one night, revealing to their mother that their marriage was false and their children were not out of love.

That their grandfather had been the one to bring them together to 'protect' the line to the throne. Elaina held her children close to her and comforted them all night.

"Granma!" The three-year-olds all chimed, giggling loudly at the affection from the Queen.

"I brought presents for you, my loves," Elaina said before a maid walked in with a handful of new toys that we specially handcrafted for the little princes and princess.

Helaena smiled softly, watching her children run toward the maid who had set the toys down and occupied the children.

Elaina turned to her daughter, bringing herself to sit next to her on the bed. Helaena moved her hand to hold her mother's, turning her attention to her.

"How are you, my sweet?" Elaina asked quietly, making sure the maid could not hear her.

"I am well, the children have been keeping me busy as well," Helaena answered, smiling as she glanced back at her children.

"And Aegon? Has he been helping?" Elaina asked, even though she knew the answer, it was nice to hear that her son had stepped up regardless of their situation.
