"I am the blood of my Dragons..."

Elaina sits calmly in her chair, in front of the council members who wait patiently for her to speak. There sitting on her right, sat Cregan, then Lucien, and Alicent who stared at her in worry.

Otto stood behind Elaina, his eyes staring at the back of her head with narrowed eyes. Alicent glared at her father, seeing the look he gave to their Queen.

Lord Lannister rolled a ball into place, smiling at everyone and ignoring the gloomy atmosphere—his attention on Elaina, who not once returned his smile.

"What is it that could not have waited an hour?" Tyland Lannister asked politely.

"Was Dorne invaded?" He jested.

Elaina took a small breath in, before sitting up straighter. A small action caused tension in the room.

"The King is dead,"

Silence tore after her words.

The silence was almost agonizing.

Elaina waited and waited until her eyes landed on Alicent who nodded at her reassuringly. Elaina had not realized the weight of her shoulders until now, she had not felt the dragging of her dress or the way her head felt heavy.

Viserys Targaryen was dead. Viserys Targaryen had appointed her as Queen, and now war will come for her and her family.

"We grieve for Viserys the Peaceful... Our sovereign... Our Friend. But he has left us a gift. With his last breath, he impressed upon the Queen his final wish," Otto solemnly, pretending to be saddened by the event.

Elaina glanced at her father, waiting for him to finish, yet the bubbling of excitement coursed through her. Distracting her from the dread she was feeling moments ago.

It was her time, it was her time now to finally get rid of the main reason for her pain. The reason all of her misery had begun. Where it all started.

"--That his son, Aegon...Should succeed--"

"Lord Hand, if you may be seated, I think it's best my husband's wishes come from me... His wife, The Queen," Elaina claimed, cutting her father off before he could finish.

"Your Grace, I the Lord Hand of--"

"The King is dead, and it is my duty to uphold balance. Was I, not his wife for that reason?" Elaina questioned raising an eyebrow at Otto, her words holding other meanings that only she, her sister, and their father knew.

Alicent smirked at Otto's hardened expression, his anger seeping through his disguise. The members watched as father and daughter battled with one another through their fierce stare.

"It is best you sit, Lord Hand, I will speak of your title after," Elaina said authority lacing her voice, ending their silent match.

A guard had pulled a chair toward the end of the table, guiding Otto to it. The man sneered at his daughter, as his mask slowly cracked open.
