"She's dead..."
•
Elaina stared at Laenor unmoving, her body stiff like a statue. Her eyes glued to his teary eyed face, as tear statins covered his cheeks.
The Velaryon man sobbed on the floor, his arms wrapping around his torso. He stared at his mother in utter sadness as he revealed the tragedy.
"She's dead... Mother... She's—"
Like world had been put to slow, Laenor remembered the agony on his mother's face. The face he'll see again before his very last breath.
Elaina screamed and stumbled toward him falling on her knees. The mother and son hugging one another, as Elaina continued to wail like the knight she lost her unborn babe.
It was like history repeating itself.
Laenor hugged his mother tightly, letting her release the pain that was unable to be forced down. He too felt his heartache, his sister dead and he didn't even get to say goodbye... Or hello.
Elaina's throat turned sore, becoming scratchy as she continued to sob and wail as loudly as she's able to.
The mother and son sat on the floor together, embracing one another of what's left of them. Their sweet sweet Laena, now turnt to nothing but ashes.
Outside the room, Ser Criston guarded the door as best he could. Three bodies trying to force their way in, after hearing their mother cry out an ear piercing scream.
"Let us in, Ser Criston! The prince demands it!" Aegon snapped, wanting to be let in.
Aemond and Helaena glared at the knight, also wanting to be let in. Wanting to be there for their mother and brother.
A choked sobbed came through the door, the silver-haired children stared at the door blocking them from seeing their mother with wide eyes.
"Mother! Laenor!" Aemond yelled out, with one final push. The three pushed past Ser Criston and into the room, causing them to tumble onto one another.
Elaina and Laenor stared at the children, before watching them scramble toward them and surrounding them with hugs.
The family together, yet pieces of their puzzle missing and unsolved.
The group pulled away from one another, yet kept each other close. Aemond looked at Laenor, sadness was all that was seen. Yet, confusion hit the small boy.
