"A war you ask for, a war you shall receive,"
•Luke sat on the fluffy bed, he stared at the crackling fire before him. He had been placed in one of the many rooms in the castle, not as a prisoner but a guest.
The people who were supposed to be his mother's enemies, were treating him as their guest. Not as their prisoner.
Luke's mind swirled with confusion and fear.
Everything that has happened had scared him, yet questioned his every being on who is right and who is wrong.
Luke wanted nothing more than to go home to his family, ask them what they have done is true. All Luke wanted was the truth.
A soft knock came at his door, distracting him away from his thoughts.
"Come in,"
The door opened, revealing Laenor as he made his way in and sat himself down next to his son.
Luke stared at his father, his eyes brimming eith tears once more. His heart ached as he glanced at his face.
His father had aged, and he had gone through life without them. Without his family. Luke missed his father, even though he was young. Luke remembered all the nights he would come and read them stories before bed, or when Laenor would bandage any wound when Luke played to rough with Jace.
"How are you faring?" Laenor asked softly, seeing his son's expression.
"W-What happened to you, father? Where have you been?" Luke questioned, his heart aching once more as he left the tears in his eyes fall.
Laenor looked away, feeling guilt and ashamed as his son stared at him with pain.
"M-Mother said you died, that a servant murdered you," Luke explained, remembering the moment his mother told him his father wouldn't be coming home with them.
"That's what she has told you?" Laenor asked, a flash of anger went across his face before sighing.
"I was in a position where I didn't know what I wanted back then. I didn't know what I needed after my sister died," Laenor started, looking away from his son to stare at the fire, keeping them warm.
"Rhaenyra had come to me at my lowest...offered an escape from it all. It seemed to good to be true. And I was right, as with the condition that I fake my death to let her and Daemon marry,"
Luke furrowed his brows, questions shooting through him but said nothing as he waited for the man to continue.
"I refused, regardless of the want of leaving everything behind. I wouldn't leave my family, I wouldn't leave you and your brother. Rhaenyra became angry, she told me I was in the way of her plan to finally marry Daemon. I ignored her, wanting to leave her be and go to my mothers.
