"You are what was promised."

"The Lannister's fleet have arrived at Kingslanding, ready at your word. Other houses who do not swore to Rhaenyra will soon follow shortly after. Winterfell soldiers will be traveling down as soon as—"

"Winterfell soldiers—...You wish to bring yourselves all the way down south?" Elaina asked, puzzled at Cregan's words.

The Northerner Lord stared at her with a dumbfound yet jesting expression, indicating that her question was silly.

After the night of passion and love, the two had brought themselves to Cregan's office the next morning to shed light on things they needed to get done.

Despite sharing their love with one another, each other knew that they would need to set that aside for a moment and figure out a plan for what's to come.

"Aegon sent a letter as well...I didn't want to open it, as it was addressed to you," Cregan handed the queen her letter.

Elaina swiftly took the parchment and opened it eagerly as she had been worried about her children. Her heart sank as she feared another one of her children has fallen.

Elaina read each letter written on the slightly churned paper. Cregan watched as her expression turned from worry to shock. His heart raced at what the news could have been.

After reading the letter, Elaina held it close to her chest. Her eyes filled with tears, yet none had fallen. Relief sagged on her shoulders as she sniffled the cold away despite the fire crackling next to them.

Cregan kneeled in front of her, as she sat on his chair. The Northern Lord held her free hand, hoping to comfort her as best as he could.

"What is it? Is the prince safe?" Cregan questioned, unsure of what to say.

   "Viserys...." Elaina started.

Cregan glanced to the side confused for a second, wondering why she was saying her ex husband's name.

"He named me heir....I am to ascend the Irone Throne," Elaina said, her eyes shining bright.

Cregan still confused stared at her like a lost puppy.

"Yes, you announced it to the counsel and to us. I don't understand—"

"He had it written....In his name he wrote me as heir to the throne," Elaina exclaimed, her heart beating fast.

"Thats joyful news, we must get this to the—"

Cregan stopped as he saw her expression, her body language showing her tensed movements.

"Rhaenyra and Daemon do not care for it. They want the throne, even if it means it goes against Viserys wishes," Elaina stated, knowing exactly what is going to happen.

"That'd be treason! They're going against the crown, regardless of their blood!" Cregan exclaimed angrily.

"Can't you see? They've already set their minds to setting us ablaze. They want the Irone Throne, and they've done everything to....to get it," Elaina whispered, her mind flashing images of her dear Helaena and Laena, her precious daughters taken away from her from the same man that took from her.

"I cannot sit here and wait idly as they ravage against my home. I need to go back to Kingslanding, meet with the council and prepare my men to ready," Elaina said, standing up before her hand clutched her front as it ached a bit.

Cregan immediately held her, helping her up to stand.

"I'm—I'm alright," Elaina said, reassuring him that even when she's hurt she will be okay.

Cregan stared the woman he had fallen so deeply for throughout the years. He knew she was strong, he knew that Elaina was the rightful Queen, and just. Elaina had been through so much, and she endured hell.

"Prepare your men, we are to set toward Kingslanding tonight," Elaina commanded, staring at Cregan with fire in her eyes.

The Northern Lord smirked and nodded his head, liking the way she commanded him to do things.

"As you wish, My Queen," Cregan bowed, then leaning toward her to kiss her gently.

The lovers shared one last kiss before departing. Elaina watched as the door closed behind her, then turned to the letter in her hand once more to feel the reality of her future coming to light.

"You are what was promised, your grace,"

A familiar voice whispered in her ear, reminding her of what she chose. An aura warmed around her, covering her body with a sensation of a new feeling.

The roar of a dragon call echoed in her mind, flashes of fire and screaming played.

"You are what was promised,"
