"My Queen,"

   "The princess is home, Viserys,"

Elaina whispered softly at her husband who lay motionless, and the only thing that would show he was still alive was the sounds of groaning and moaning of pain coming from his mouth.

Elaina stared at him with a blank expression on her face, her caring nature gone as she stared at the man who shared his doing of ruining her life. Her right hand was occupied with a golden goblet filled with liquid she had been giving him to keep him alive.

"P-princess?" Viserys whispers painfully, his eyes forcing themselves to open slightly.

"Yes, dear, your daughter is home, along with her traitorous husband and children," Elaina answered nonchalantly.

"M-My daughter.... t-the p-princess--" Viserys coughed harshly, cutting himself off from what he was going to say.

Elaina rolled her eyes, unbothered by his words. Uncaring as he continued to spit blood out, before wiping it so no one wouldn't see it.

"Yes yes, rest now, dear, I have a meeting to attend to for you," Elaina said, bringing a cup of Milk of the Poppy to his lips.

Elaina waited a bit, watching as he slowly fell back asleep. Her eyes trained on his face, seeing the decaying flesh of a man he once was.

Elaina got up from her seat and left the room swiftly to make her way toward the council room. The members waited for her and seated themselves as they talk among one another. Once the doors opened, a guard announced her arrival causing everyone in the room to stand and bow their heads.

Elaina sent them all a small smile before making her way toward her seat. Her seat, where the king used to sit.

"We have continued to enjoy the improved customs duties since settling of the Stepstones, and the extent to which we exploit those is contingent on the harbor master's receipts.

Of which, um, uh, the, uh, septons have requested half that again for bronze bust they wish to commission for the Festival of the Mother, which I would not recommend--"

"Thank you for that accounting, Lord Beesbury," Elaina said, cutting the man off from continuing to bore them all to death.

"I remind you---" The doors suddenly opened once more, as Ser Harrold stared at the queen before bowing his head.

"Your guests have arrived, Your Grace," Ser Harrold said.

"I trust they've been welcomed as befits their station," Otto said, causing Elaina to glare at her father, before turning her attention back on Ser Harrold.

   "As you instructed, Lord Hand--"

"The princess and her family will be staying in their respective rooms, Ser Harrold, let them know they will be meeting with me shortly after," Elaina said cutting the knight off, her voice strong and powerful.
