*Evan POV

The next day, I accompanied the girls to survey the area we're in

Formidable: my survey is finished. It appears that we are on an archipelago made of four islands. Unfortunately, I cannot get a closer look on the northern island as there are siren defenses on the island. I have more information about the other three though, the one we're on is littered with stone buildings

Formidable said as she withdrew her planes

Evan: siren defenses huh? guess it's time for bombardment mission

Shimakaze: bombardment mission?

Evan: I'll use Big One to bombard the siren defenses or at the very least, weaken them so that you'll have an easier time scouting it Formidable

Formidable: be careful commander

Evan: I will

Formidable: the island to the west is shrouded in purple woodlands and the last island to the east seems to be dotted with metallic city ruins. Miss Ryza, have you deciphered the stone monument?

Ryza: I've figured out the gist of it. It looks really ancient but the text is barely readable. Basically there are five islands in the archipelago and the island we're on lies in the centre. There's also a few hints that tell us what we have to do. First we have to find hidden recipes, presumably alchemy recipes spreaded out across the islands. Apparently we'll get new powers if we do that. There are also keys that we need to gather. It say s that we'll be needed to break through barrier somewhere. finally there is one island to the north called the central foundation which apparently our way back home

Alfredo: hey that's good to kno-

Before alfredo can say anything, she stepped on something metallic

Alfredo: hey! there's a key beneath the monument!

Alfredo exclaimed as she picked the key up

Alfredo: also Formidable, are you sure you survey everything? You said there are four islands while the monument said that there are five according to Ryza

Formidable: that is strange, yes. but I can assure you that I was thorough. If I had to guess, the fifth island is likely concealed by siren technology

Bristol: hmm based on your description, I think that's where the desolate capital is. there's treasure there so why else would they hide it? I say we head there and try to find it. I'm dying to investigate some ruins

Alfredo: hold your horses! I wanna check out the castle of strife first. Doesn't that where the brutal truth lay buried part sound interesting

Bristol: Are you kidding me? treasure sounds way more interesting

Alfredo: the truth matters more than riches

Patricia: we have a conflict of opinion it seems

Patricia remarked as we watched the two destroyers argue

Shimakaze: Bristol, Alfredo calm down here! isn't' the prospect of seeing real life alchemy the most exciting thing of all?

Alfredo: Hey, that reminds me. Ryza mentioned something about alchemy when we met her and she use some weird bombs in the last battle

Ryza: I made those myself using alchemy. It's what I do because I'm a real honest to goodness alchemist. Right.. I said that earlier. I guess it does sound ridiculous if you haven't seen it with your own eyes

Klaudia: then why don't you give them a demonstration using the cauldron that we found?

Ryza: well I would totally love to but I don't have any materials

Evan: just like my potion making, you need materials to do your alchemy

Ryza: yes

Alfredo: in that case tell us what you need and we'll help you find them

Ryza: You will? Awesome! having that said, this place is completely foreign to me so I also have no idea what kind of alchemy materials we can find here would you al latke a look around first

Formidable: of course. anything to help a friend I too would like to see alchemy in action

Ryza: thanks! okay let's see what we can find in this land of beginnings

Evan: you ladies find your materials. I'll prepare Big One to bombard the northern island

I said as I prepared to leave the group

*Timeskip

*third person POV

There were train whistles followed by a green streak of light going up into the sky as the girls temporarily stopped looking for materials to watch. Big One passes by a track ring as it departed the island
