FCT ABUJA

FEW MONTHS LATER

My dad was getting married to Oluronke , he got engaged to her sometimes last month and my dad thought it was useless to wait. We were all presently around for the wedding. By the way, I just finished my final exams last week. I am going to defend my project in few weeks. This girl finna bag L.L.B in law. Yassssss queen! First class baby.

Kelvin was around. He visited everytime, I mean he works here now. My dad has pretty much gotten used to him.

We were in the church already waiting for Oluronke, Kendra was of course her maid of honors. Both of them were yet to arrive. My dad was panicking already.

"she will be here soon" I kept assuring him

"she shouldn't be taking this long" my dad said panicking

"dad, I'm sure she'll be here soon"

"have you tried calling Kendra?" I asked Kelvin and I felt stupid immediately I asked

"I don't have her number. Bold of you to assume I would have her number tho" he said sounding almost upset

"I'm sorry"

"its fine and thank you for apologizing"

"they are here!" Damola called out. And truly, they had arrived.  I saw Oluronke enter the church hall. She walked to my dad hugging him. "I'm so sorry Kay, there was mad traffic on the way and I don't know I managed to forget my phone at home. I sent Kendra back home to get it."

"hold on, if Kendra is at home, you don't have a maid of honor. You are not getting married without her are you?" I asked interrupting

"wow. I dint realize that" she replied

"Tamilore would do it then" my dad said

"no! I have to walk you" I replied

"I'm sure Kelvin would not mind doing that for me"

Kelvin was caught off guard. He had not expected my dad would ask him to walk with him to the altar. "I would love to do that sir." He said smiling

I turned to Oluronke "are you sure about this?"

"it is fine. I'm sure Kendra won't mind. As long as you are not uncomfortable with it" she said

"no, no, no, I just don't want Kendra to feel some type of way"

"its fine. I need to get married. I'm sure she would understand"

"if you say so ma"

We all walked inside the church auditorium. The organist was playing a wedding hymn and the choir sang the processional hymn as my dad walked in first with Kelvin by his side. They met Imisi at the altar. He smiled at them as they approached him.

Soon, Oluronke and I processed in. Her wedding gown was flawless, embroided with beautiful pearls. I saw my dad and he was in awe. You would know he was head over heels in love with her. I looked over to Kelvin and he was smiling at me. I blushed inside.

We got to the altar, they said their vows and soon they were MR & MRS. Kendra arrived immediately after the 'you may kiss the bride' scene. She smiled as she sat next to me. "I'm glad I dint miss the scene" she said

"you're so late b"

"brahhh, traffic here is mad o"

"but you can't compare to that of Lagos"

"nibo? Absolutely not" she said and we both laughed. (not anywhere close)

"hi Kelvin" she greeted

"hey" Kelvin replied without sparing her a glance.
