Reversal 38

“In what grounds, Mr. Kang? Why do you want to resign?”

Beomgyu keep it as professional as he can but he’s already worried about the younger’s sudden statement. He’s now overthinking like what did he do wrong? What did he say that pushes Taehyun to act like this?

“I…” Taehyun’s out of words and he looks at his shoes. “I—“ he pauses when he felt a war embrace around him.

“Why, Love? Why? What’s wrong? Please tell me,” Beomgyu pleaded.

“Beomgyu,” he called the older and lifts his head up. Tears started to form in the corner of his eyes. “Beomgyu, I’m sorry,” he apologizes and tears broke out making him sobs loudly.

“W-why? Why are you sorry?” Beomgyu asked him in anxious and guided him to take a seat on the sofa, holding his dearest hands. “It’s okay, you can tell me when you’re calm. Okay? I’m just here.”

Taehyun continues to sob and then he wipes it before looking at Beomgyu. “Beomgyu,” he called again and the older nods at him. “Do we… do we really love each other?” he asks.

Beomgyu was taken aback by that question, he didn’t expect it. “Of course! Of course we do,” Beomgyu answered.

“W-what if… what if what we’re feeling right now is just a short, fluttering, moment because we missed each other? W-what if because we were l-longing for each other and… and we just wanted to feel it… W-what if…” he cries again.

“You’re saying that you doubt what you are feeling right now?” Beomgyu asks him. “Is that what you want to say?” his voice is still calm.

Taehyun hesitantly nods. “I-I’ve been thinking about it and… and Hueningkai loves me so much. H-he was there when I needed him the most, he was the one who showered me with love and hope when you were gone a-and I can’t… I can’t hurt him. H-he don’t deserve this, I-I shouldn’t hurt him,” he reasoned.

Every word that came out from Taehyun’s mouth just pierced Beomgyu’s heart. Well, Taehyun’s right. Who was exactly with him when he needed someone the most? Wasn’t it Kai? And when Beomgyu arrived and feelings started to stir him up, confused him, he just throws away Hueningkai that fast.

“I-I’m sorry… I’m sorry, Beomgyu. I’m sorry if I let myself get swayed by you and messed up everything again, I-I’m so sorry,” Taehyun bawls again when he noticed Beomgyu’s silence.

Beomgyu nods, “Taehyun,” he calls. “Did I confuse you? I’m sorry. I am the one who made this mess. I am the one who pulled you into this. I’m really sorry… I-I just love you so much that I want you back. I want to at least fight for us again but… but if this is just making you feel guilty…” he pauses.

Beomgyu slowly lets go of Taehyun’s hand. “I should let you go then.”

When Taehyun felt that there’s no more hand that is holding him, he suddenly burst out again. Taehyun’s sobs and loud cry are the only sound that can be heard inside Beomgyu’s office and it’s tearing him apart.

So Beomgyu hugged him again and keep on hushing while rubbing the younger’s back. “It’s okay… It’ll gonna be okay. I know you’re just confused. S-should we give it a rest first? What do you want to do?” Beomgyu asks in his calm voice.

“C-can we really take a rest first? I-I just need to think for things… Can we… c-can we stay away from each other first?” Taehyun suggested.

“Okay, okay we can do that. You can take a leave for days and think things and then… t-then tell me your decision, okay?” Beomgyu agreed and he held Taehyun’s cheeks. “But Taehyun, I want you to know that I love you so much, okay? So please… please consider my feelings too, Love.”

Taehyun nods at him. “T-thank you… Thank you. My head is just so dizzy right now. I can’t think right. I don’t want to decide things without thinking properly. I’m really sorry again, Beomgyu.”

“I understand no worries. It’s better that breaking off without proper reasons again,” Beomgyu smile a second. “Do you still want me to drop you off at the bus stop?” Beomgyu asks.

Taehyun nods at him, “Yes please…”

The two went out with a heavy heart. Good thing, it’s already past working hours and so the hallways and offices are close. Taehyun’s still sniffing and Beomgyu not leaving his side until they reached the parking lot.

“Actually…” Taehyun sounded before they get on the car. “I don’t want to go home right now… I-I can’t afford to see Kai tonight and I don’t want him to see me in this situation,” he stated.

“So, where do you wanna go? Where should I take you then?” Beomgyu asks him.

“I don’t know… anywhere… j-just anywhere,” Taehyun answered in low voice and went inside the car. He then lean his head against the window and closes his eyes.

Beomgyu just went in too and takes the driver seat. He lean forward to Taehyun and put his seatbelt on. “Take a rest first, I’ll just wake you up if we reached the place,” Beomgyu stated in his endearing voice and he received a brief nods from Taehyun.

Beomgyu started the engine and then pressed the gas. At this point, Beomgyu doesn’t care about what will happen next, he just wanted to be with Taehyun. He just wanted to accompany the younger until he’s fine. Beomgyu knows that Taehyun’s confused, he knows everything went fast inside them.

If only Taehyun doesn’t have Hueningkai right now then maybe it’s much better but the situation isn’t like that.

And even in Beomgyu’s side as well.

Taehyun is sound asleep inside an over two-hour drive, there’s a soft classic songs playing and Beomgyu’s eyes are fixated on the road, actually thinking some things inside his head that he can’t stop.

Beomgyu take a turn and as he goes on the road, the spaces between the houses are getting bigger until both sides of the road are already full of tress. A sound of low groans were heard and Beomgyu glanced at Taehyun.

“Where are we?” Taehyun asks in his hoarse voice, probably because of excessive crying that he did.

“You said anywhere, right? Don’t worry,” Beomgyu answered.

“O-okay… oh! It’s already midnight?” Taehyun noticed the time on the car’s screen.

Beomgyu chuckles, “Don’t worry about it,” he assured and Taehyun just nods at him.

Taehyun noticed they are going on a hill and since it’s dark, he doesn’t know what’s outside the window aside from the path that is in front of them. Then as they go on, Taehyun can now sight some lights and lamppost, then a gate and finally a house.

“W-what is this? Your house?” Taehyun asks when the car stops and they went out.

“Yeah… some rest house,” Beomgyu answered. “If I’m fed up with things or what, I’ll come here,” he stated. “Let’s go inside.”

“Beomgyu… Thank you for making me rest even for a while.”
