Asmodeus left to get some feathers from the Magitool Batra room, so I decided to change my disguise and follow him, with some detection warding glasses too for good measure.
I do want to ask him about something...
During practice, he mentioned Kiriwo. I need to make sure that
*Clunk*
We hear something from inside the room.
"Schnell! Are you once again making use of the Batra room without per-"
Both of us freeze.
Standing there, inside of the room, looking at Asmodeus...
Is Kiriwo.
"Ami...?"
"Aah, Asmo-"
*Geh*
He suddenly coughs up blood.
"Are you alright!? Pull yourself together!"
What...?
My mind floods with thoughts as I stand and watch Asmodeus helping Kiriwo.
What's he doing?
Why's he helping Kiriwo?
Why does he KNOW Kiriwo?
Doesn't he know what a sick bastard he is?
And he's wearing the uniform... Why haven't I seen him around the school if he goes here?
WHY is he here???
I watch from the corner as they drink tea together.
"Ah- sorry about that, I was just surprised."
"That's ok. You haven't changed at all, I see."
Azz looks surprised too. Something definitely happened, probably before I came to Babyls.
"It seems you all have been taking care of the Magitools Research Batra for me. Thank you."
Kiriwo runs this Batra? Ok, so definitely he's been absent. I've visited this Batra multiple times in an attempt to learn more about my ring. It didn't help, but there was always this weird guy talking to himself about his waifus or research...
"I really thought it would get disbanded."
"It was saved due to Master Iruma's efforts! A lot has happened during your absence... and now, after our victory in the Music Festival, Master Iruma has risen to rank 5! He's making his way in the world!"
"I see... that's amazing. So then, you're Iruma's 'guiding light'... You are always by his side, illuminating his path with your flames. He can move forward if he has you."
"...! If- If that's true, then... I'm glad. ...If you have time, please come see Master Iruma. I'm sure he would be happy to see you."
Wait, what!? No!!! No, no, no! Don't let the sick bastard near any of them!
"... Yeah, I'd like to... see Iruma too."
Immediately, Asmodeus summons his fire and attempts to attack Kiriwo. Kiriwo's perfectly calm, with a barrier put up.
I can't even hear what they're saying over my thoughts and the crackling of the fire magic.
...Well that was certainly sudden.
What even happened!? Does he know? Did he somehow just realize? What was it that connected the dots? And how is Kiriwo's barrier holding up against Azz? He was a weakling last time I saw him and he was coughing up blood earlier, there's no way he's managing this by himself!
