(A/N: The new arc is so fun I can't even be sad there's barely anything for me to write about! I'm also very happy to finally learn more about the Many-Ears for reasons that are partially linked to this fanfic)
Note to self.
'Thank you for joining us today!'
Do not go into an evil cycle.
And if you do...
'It's usually just the two of us, but it's very lovely to see you in person again.'
Restrict access to your phone.
Specifically texts.
Specifically texts from someone of high ranking.
Specifically from the deity princess.
"I'm honored to be here, Shura-sama," I smile. "It's wonderful to see you again..."
Specifically the deity princess indirectly asking you to act as a wingwoman at one of her tea parties with the one member of the 13 Crowns that you cannot stand.
"...and, of course, Baal-sama, a pleasure to see you," I finish, my gaze turning to the wolf in fancy sheep's clothing.
I can tell Amduscias is in charge of his outfits, I scoff internally.
"Yes, same here," he nods, a polite smile on his face. "Such a shame we barely had the chance to speak to each other during the Deviculum."
"Did we see each other during the Deviculum? I can't seem to recall," I reply, fidgeting with my ring aggressively underneath the table.
'Well, you both did take measures to protect me during that horrible attack, so perhaps that's what he means,' Shura suggests, blissfully unaware of the hidden tension so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Speaking of knives, I want to stab one into his chest and watch him slowly bleed out.
"Ah yes, that's true," I nod.
'But speaking of, it was a bit of a surprise to find out that you two knew each other.'
I stare at the flower with her comment on it for a second, trying to figure out what exactly she's talking about.
"Yes, well, I was in charge of her Scala," Baal replies.
Oh, right.
We're calling that day my Scala now, I guess.
Whoopee.
'Scala? Was your rank not He?' A flower's text says as Shura turns to me.
"Oh, I've become a rank Vav thanks to a recent exam," I explain, taking out my badge. "It was challenging, but a wonderful learning experience."
"Speaking of, should you not be in school right now?" Baal asks.
Because a certain someone was heavily concerned and insisted on it - not that I mind, it was honestly kind of endearing seeing him so worried about me - I got checked out by Balam-sensei, then Buer-sensei, then Phis-sensei, then my other doctor, and then got told to take a week off to see if I get at all affected by the magic that woman used on me.
I haven't felt anything, but I have been mentally preparing myself for this tea party that Evil Cycle Me agreed to.
So I'm not actually completely lying.
"My doctor recommended I take the week off due to a minor incident, so there's no need to worry. ...Are you that fond of Shura-sama's company? Of course, she's a wonderful conversationalist, but if I didn't know better I'd say you're a little put off by my presence," I giggle lightly. "I do hope I'm not intruding on your time together."
