A Child Again

I yearn to be a child once more,
Free from worldly burdens I bore.
To dance in rain, no fear or strife,
Embracing innocence, reclaiming life.

I long to leave behind my past,
Forgo the wrongs that held me fast.
Release the words that tainted my tongue,
Unlearn the darkness, when I was young.

In childhood's realm, I'll make amends,
Rebuild my soul, as the journey extends.
To cherish anew what I once took for granted,
And mend the bonds that I've left fragmented.

For in the tender days of youth,
When all is pure and full of truth,
I'll find solace in a simpler time,
Where joy and laughter intertwine.

Oh, let me rediscover that precious grace,
And wear a smile upon my face.
With open heart and wide-eyed view,
I'll grow into the person I always knew.

So grant me this chance to start anew,
To relish the magic that childhood imbues.
For in those innocent years, I will find,
The seeds of goodness left behind.
