Words Without Meaning

Don't say you love me if you don't mean it true,
I've tasted deceit, been hurt through and through.
Lies disguised as love, they cut me deep,
Left me broken, my heart unable to sleep.

Don't say you miss me, unless it's sincere,
I've heard those words, oh so crystal clear.
Yet they were empty, mere echoes in the air,
Leaving me disappointed, feeling stripped and bare.

Don't say you need me, unless it's real,
I've been misled, my trust they'd steal.
Pretending to rely on me, a charade so grand,
Only to use and discard, leaving me to stand.

Don't promise me the stars, if you won't ascend,
I've been deceived, my dreams they'd bend.
Promises, sweet whispers, they held no weight,
Just empty vows that led to an uncertain fate.

Don't come to me with lies, to cloak your true intent,
Honesty is the foundation, on which trust is lent.
I deserve the truth, the authenticity of your heart,
A genuine connection, where falsehoods depart.

I am worthy, a soul deserving of respect,
To feel cherished, valued, and fully checked.
So, don't approach me, unless you're ready to abide,
By the truth and love, walking side by side.
