Heart Dear

In shadows deep, where light resides no more,
There lies an empty heart, its essence sore.
Once devout it was, in love's sacred grasp,
But now a void, where desolation clasp.

It loved and loved, with fervour so profound,
Yet heartbreaks crushed, its dreams left to drown.
Each shattered piece, a testament to pain,
Till love's flame dimmed, and hope could not sustain.

No longer can it dance, no longer sway,
For agony has bled its colours grey.
Sowed with misery, its melancholy rhyme,
This heart of mine, imprisoned for all time.

Oh, cruel heart, once filled with love's embrace,
Now cold and distant, lost in empty space.
I tried to heal you, to mend your broken core,
Built walls to guard against emotions' roar.

But love has fled, and hate you cannot know,
No more can you feel, no warmth to bestow.
A barren wasteland where once flowers bloomed,
A heart so despaired, in darkness entombed.

Oh, heart dear of mine, now but a hollow shell,
Echoing silence where emotions once dwelled.
No hope remains, for it was forbidden,
A desolate lament, where joy is hidden.

In solitude you dwell, a mournful sight,
A heart that's lost its way, in endless night.
Oh, how I long to see your vibrant glow,
But alas, my heart, you've forgotten how to show.
