One day you'll be gone,
And I'll be all alone.
Mourning what we had,
Mourning you, my own.
I'll cry with memories of you,
For the good times we shared,
For what we'll never have again,
For the love that can't be repaired.
I'll reach out to touch you,
But you won't be there,
And I'll miss you even more,
As I'm consumed by despair.
Because you'll be gone,
I'll weep for the loss,
And in those moments of sorrow,
I'll remember what it cost.
In case you didn't know,
I love you, it's true,
In case I never said it enough,
I love you, through and through.
And if someday you depart,
Before I have a chance to say,
Just know that every moment with you,
I've treasured along the way.
So, this is my goodbye,
Though it pains me to say,
For someday we'll all part,
In our own separate way.
And if I don't get to say goodbye,
When that time comes to be,
Rest easy, my dear,
For my love will forever be with thee.
