LOST IN TIME FOUND IN LOVE

In honesty's voice,
Falsehoods falter, truth will stay
Sorrow's heavy veil

"THESE FINGERS?

"I'm keeping my hopes up that you'll come to believe it soon bago pa man ako magpaalam sa 'yo."

"I already warned you not to mess with the flowers outside."

"That's why I'm giving it back to you." As she scoured for something to munch on, she uncovered a perfectly packaged croissant baked by Eliza.

Masisira lang at malalanta 'to."

"I'm not returning it to where it came from, I'm giving it to you instead." I found her stopped mid-bite to her croissant, as if she had uttered something truly awful that she couldn't undo.

"Ah, you're giving me flower?" Naging sutil at mapaglaro ang aking tono. "My obsession with history classes taught me that when someone hands you a flower, it's a sign they're into you.

She couldn't contain her laughter, as if I had said something ridiculously funny, but the blush on her face gave away her amusement lalo na nang sumulyap ito sa kanyang relo. Namilog ang kanyang mga mata. And just when I tried to peek at her watch, she playfully shoved a piece of bread into my mouth to divert my attention.

"Did your heart skip a beat?"

"Are you dead?"

"W-what?"

"Flowers are just for the dead people in my book."

"When your admirers present you with flowers, does that suggest you're a walking dead too?" bwelta ko. "Naniniwala pa naman ako sa zombies."

"Kapag may nagbigay sa 'kin ng flowers, it means patay na patay sila sa 'kin!" she said it with so much pride, what a little brat. "That's how my beauty gets all the attention."

"Then you're saying you've got a serious crush on me too dahil binigyan mo ako ng bulaklak-"

"It's like you're stuck in a fantasy. How many more times do I need to say it? You're not my type, Smarty-pants." Binawi niya 'yong bulaklak sa saucer saka nito iyon isinabit sa kanyang tainga. The way that flower sat so perfectly above her ear, tucked away in her hair, intensified her goddess-like beauty.

It's becoming quite a challenge to tear my gaze away.
