Sanem pushes the door to the back of the building open and walks out feeling limp. She climbs down the steps where they had been not two days ago and sits down on the bottom, hugging her knees as she looks out at the city through the trees.

Unable to stop crying, she lets it go and tears stream down her cheeks. He was so cold towards her, looking at her for barely a second and that hurt the most. Not that he wasn't willing to listen, but that she repulsed him so much that he refused to look at her anymore.

She takes out the paper scroll he'd given her with her quill gift and unfolds it, reading it again.
'Don't ever stop writing. Or dreaming. C.D'

Closing the scroll, she blinks more tears away and wipes her nose on her sleeve, staring out at the trees.

"I don't want to go in at all," Emre says as he pulls to a stop and looks at Aylin in the passenger seat before he turns to the building.

"Emre, he's not the owner. Don't let him break you down. This new contract is going to open doors. They have you to thank for staying afloat, don't forget that."

He looks at her again. He nods and then gets out, sighing. She follows and he locks the car. "I just don't want to fight again if he finds out."

"If he wants to fight, let him. Who does he think he is and who cares anyway? You have the same amount of shares as he does. He can't do anything but yell, don't worry."

"Alright. You go ahead," he says after she's done fixing his tie. She smiles.
"I'll be right there." Emre stares at the cars driving by and frowns, not feeling up to going in after the previous night but not having a choice.

"We've gone through everything now, is there something else?" Can asks, looking up at Deren.

"Nothing."

"Good," he sighs and puts down the pen in his hand. He knew he had to keep working but he just wanted to be alone.

"Can, are you okay?"

He leans his arms on his desk and shrugs. "It doesn't look too bad, you go ahead and collect whatever we're owed. I'll go and get the rest from the archives."

Deren blinks. "Uhm...alright." She takes the file and he gets up, pushing his chair out. "My pen, can I get it - " She reaches for it and so does he.

"Here."

She looks up at him and smiles. "Thank you."

He nods. "My pleasure." She turns and walks out of the office. He follows not far behind, scratching at his neck in irritation.

"Good morning."

He and Deren both come to a stop at the bridge, walking right into Aylin.

"Are we having a meeting?"

"You don't have to be there."

"Can," Aylin looks at him after he says this, "I'm the consultant on this project."

"If we need you to consult on something, we'll let you know. Go to your office and stay out of the way."

"Yes, go to your office Aylin. We'll let you know. Maybe not, who knows? But you can wait there."

"Fine," Aylin shrugs, "call me if you need me."

"I don't think we will. What could we possibly need you for?"

Aylin glares at Deren, rolling her eyes before she turns around and walks down the aisle.

Just as Aylin is gone, Emre walks in and Can's eyes zero in on him. He stares him down, his jaw clenched and his eyebrows dipped in.
