Can is feet ahead of Sanem and JJ coming down the stairs so they could all meet in the ground floor. He looks at Deren when the room becomes quiet and leans against the chair's back.
He called the meeting, but he needed to word what he had to say right. He looks up from the table and up at the faces around him. All except one.
"Alright, the situation hasn't gotten much better." They all look at each other worriedly. "We've put 20% of the agency's shares up for sale...So far, only one other agency has responded. They'll call soon with their decision and we'll take it from there."
"But Can, this offer won't save us. The shares will be lost in vain. It's not enough."
"There's nothing we can do now Deren." Can looks at Sanem next to him for a second before he says, "It's better to be safe and rebuild than sorry and lose it all," then looks at the rest of the room again.
Sanem frowns and looks away. Ouch.
Deren moves from Can's side and he looks up over his shoulder at Emre coming down the stairs. She hurries over and he looks down at his hands gripping the chair.
"Emre? Did you manage to get some offers?" Deren whispers, but in the silence it was heard as if she never did.
"Unfortunately not."
"Oh," she says dejectedly and he nods for her to go back to her seat, following her to the empty one.
"Moving on," Can says, ignoring Emre passing by behind him. "We have to prepare announcements on every available platform - social and normal medias, press, websites - everything." He glances at Emre and nods. "We're not mentioning anything about corruption, we don't need that now. Deren, you have the remaining agency contacts here?"
"Yes, it's all here. Not a lot left though. We just need to hand off."
"Good, let's get down to business then," he says and sits down, pinching his eyes.
-
Sanem turns to JJ. "JJ, let's go over here quickly?" She nods to the side as everyone sits down or starts calling again and working on the media. "If someone gets up and comes to the second floor, send me a text immediately, okay? My phone will be with me. Don't forget, it's important."
"Okay, but where are you going?"
"I'll tell you later." Sanem grabs her phone and announces that she was going to make some calls herself before glancing at Can and rushing up the stairs two at a time. She stops halfway to the top and looks down at Emre, busy on his phone and not paying attention.
You're done buddy. It's over. She smirks and keeps going.
Can scratches at his ear as he watches her, pretending to be looking around. Frowning, he looks at Deren when he realizes he was still looking and then stares ahead at the table in front of him. Where is she going?
Sanem runs through the empty office hub to Emre's office and looks over her shoulder before she goes in.
Searching any and everywhere, she looks for the file. She just hoped he hadn't had time to put it in his safe.Sanem finally finds it in the bottom drawer under some other agency files and she checks over her shoulder, sliding it out and opening it.
Let's see what's so important that Can can't know about shall we?
She takes out the documents and reads the pages. A contract?
"Emre and Aylin are partners? That's why..."Sanem shakes her head as she remembers how urgently he wanted her to get the file back before Can saw. No wonder...Oof, you're a devious man Emre Divit.
