Sanem puffs up her cheeks after thirty minutes of trying to focus. She was feeling a little overwhelmed thinking about heading this project. Plus she hasn't had her tea yet. She gets up, glancing around the office and then walks to the coffeebar.
As she reaches for the kettle, another hand does the same and she looks up, her mouth open to scold whoever it was.
Can looks down at her lips and back up at her eyes, and she gulps, staring up at him so close to her.
A sudden warmth goes through her and she realizes that it was her hand on the side of the boiling kettle and not something romantic. "Ooh, ow..." she groans and lets go to cradle her hand to her chest, wincing. Nice going Sanem!
"Got burned huh?" Can asks, standing away from the kettle, his hands behind his back, nodding. "Sorry." She shakes her head over her shoulder, shaking her hand to cool it. "Give it ten seconds, it'll be okay. Trust me." She looks at him over blowing at her fingers as he nods.
"Well, then I have no choice I guess, you sound so sure of it," she jests and stops shaking her hand, just holding it now and rubbing lightly.
"Try licking it, then blowing," he says, sticking out his tongue and blowing after.
Is he serious? She widens her eyes, her hand up to her lips.
"Just try it."
She eyes him sideways, then licks her hand quickly and blowing the wet spot. It was actually helping a little, to her surprise so she does it again.
"Better?"
It's obvious he's trying not to laugh and so Sanem stops licking herself.
"Yes," she sniffs, clearing her throat. They stand there for a moment just looking at the kettle and then each other.
"So, can I pour then?" Can asks, nodding at the kettle when it becomes awkward.
"Of course," Sanem says and gets two cups, stepping up to the counter to place them in front of Can.
He moves to her side again and as she sets up the small plates next to the the cups, he pours the already made tea first, leaving each cup half full. He picks up the boiling water and adds it to the tea.
Sanem watches him silently, more specifically his hands and the way they moved. "You have a pretty steady hand, Mr Can."
Can hums. "Is that so?"
"Yes. No spillage at all."
Can shrugs and nods. "I also have a very good eye." Sanem looks at him in question. "For example, I noticed," he goes on and points at the cups of tea, "that you're not the one who brewed this tea."
She blinks and tilts her head, looking at the tea as he puts down the kettle. "How do you know that?" she asks with a small smile starting.
Can shrugs like it was supposed to be obvious. "It's not the right color."
Sanem leans a bit closer and then stands up slowly. "Yeah?"
"Hm hm," he nods.

Across the bridge, Deren had been on her way to the archives when she stopped dead seeing Can and Sanem together at the coffeebar.
She ducks immediately to peek over the leaves of a plant.
"Miss - ?"
"What are you looking at?" she snaps at a wide eyed Yila. "I got a sudden splurge of inspiration and stopped here. What's the problem? Go away. Don't disturb me. I'm busy working," she looks back to Can and Sanem, ducking behind the plant again and narrowing her eyes.
