You know when you were younger and you were at your friends house for a sleep over and their parent came in and hugged them and you are just texting your mum all night because you start getting really homesick because you miss them so much.I felt like that when Hazil ran into her grandmas arms followed by Thomas squeezing his mum tightly.
I stood my distance, allowing the family to hold each other since the accident.
I smiled at how happy they were as a family, the hugs and smiles looked so true and not fake like my family.
Finally, I saw Hazil cry for real as her head was buried into her grandmas shoulder. Thomas was on his toes holding them all in a circle, but he still didn't let himself cry.
I stood back and let them mourn for a few minutes, allowing myself to smile at this family. Obviously, I wasn't smiling at their sadness, but I was smiling at the amount of love heating off of the hug.
Soon they pulled away and Thomas's mum did the normal Grandma type thing as she cupped her hands around Hazils cheeks, wiping away the tears.
"Oh, Mum, Dad, I want you to meet Y/N. My beautiful girlfriend."
Girlfriend?
Did he just give me the title of his girlfriend?
I choked on the air as Thomas took my hand and led me to his parents.
"Hello sweetheart." His mum greeted me warmingly.
"Hi, I'm so sorry I've met you at such a bad time." I said kindly.
"It had to happen one day, didn't it? Is this the same girl that you talk about on your last trip?" She asked Thomas.
"Yes." He replied.
"Oh, he wouldn't stop talking about you! He kept saying how he made a big mistake! Aw, honey, he does love you!"
"Mum." Thomas said in a childish way.
"I think I love him aswell." I whispered.
"She's perfect!" Thomas's mum waved her hands in the air, beaming a smile at me. A happy and warm smile that set my heart skipping a beat.
"Can we go?" Hazil moaned, glaring at me.
"Oh teenagers! Always in a rush!"
Thomas's mum joked. "I'm Tasha by the way." She smiled.
"Let's go!" Hazil groaned.
"Okay, okay!" She laughed.
We left the airport talking and laughing with Hazil dragging her feet behind.
