I'm not sure how long it was that I was staring at Jace but his eyes were coping mine.I felt Thomas's hand interwind with mine, but when I didn't smile he knew there was something wrong.
"Y/N? What is it?" He whispered.
My eyes didn't leave Jace's. "Recognise someone?" I jolted my head towards my sisters ex.
"Oh bloody hell." Thomas replied.
"Hi Thomas." Jace finally spoke up.
"Jace."
"Long time no speak! How have you been? It's been ages. Was the last time I saw you-"
"It was Y/N's sisters wedding. Your wedding." Thomas interrupted Jace.
"Oh I seem to recall the day." Jace smirked.
"Just shut up Jace." I whispered.
Luckily no one had heard us yet other the noise of their own conversations.
"Still bosy I see, Y/N. Little princess Y/N not getting her way again. One day you will learn the world isn't easy and you have to loose things." I was about to blow. How dare he say that? How dare he.
"Don't you dare." I growled.
"Just shut up, Jace." Thomas stuck up for me but I wasn't finished.
"Oh no Tommy, let us hear what my lovely brother-in-law has to say again. Because it was always what you had to say. Every meal, party or any time you were with us it was all about you. Not about my sister and you never asked about us! We hated you Jace! we hated everything about you and we never thought you would marry my sister! And then the baby! The dead baby! Is that why you left, Jace?" I felt the room become quiet, people were listening.
"Y/N, shut up now." Jace growled.
But that made me want to say more, he obviously hadn't spoken about it to anyone. But the anger was unreal, I couldn't help myself. "Oh, I get it, okay. So, Jace, you told me, and I quote 'One day you will learn the world isn't easy and you have to loose things.'" I said it with my fingers in the air representing speech marks. And that's when I lost it: "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ME! YOU BROKE UP MY FAMILY! YOU WRECKED NEARLY MY WHOLE LIFE! EVERYTHING I HAD! MY CHILDHOOD IS NOTHING BUT A DISTANT MEMORY!" I stood up from my chair and towered over Jace. "I AM NO WHERE NEAR A PRINCESS! I JUST LEFT MY PARENTS AND ALL I GAVE THEM WAS A PHONE CALL OF A GOODBYE WHICH WAS THE ONLY CONTACT I HAD AFTER MONTHS OF SEEING AND SPEAKING TO THEM! AT LEAST I HAD THE NERVE TO PHONE THEM UP! YOU JUST LEFT MY SISTER! I HATE YOU JACE!"
"Y/N, calm down." It was Thomas who stopped me saying anymore. However, He didn't make eye contact with me, he just stared at the floor.
I looked the around the dinning room.
No one dared to make a noise. The expressions on most peoples faces were disgust and shameful.
I swear Jace would of said something if it wasn't for his mother putting a hand on his shoulder.
I looked over to Tasha who, like her son, stared at the floor and not at me.
Hazil looked like she was about to laugh at how pathetic I was. Then finally, what made it 100x worse was Thomas. He still didn't make eye contact but I could see the embarrassment in his eyes as he shook his head.
I cleared my throat "I'm so sorry, Tasha." I tried to apologised to Thomas's lovely mother, but she didn't lift her head "I'm so sorry everyone, but I think I better get home." I looked at Thomas "I'll see you back home, Thomas. I'm sorry." But he didn't reply.
I calmly made my way out of the beautiful room then out of the glamourise home and slowly down the path.
As soon as I knew I was out of sight, I allowed the tears to fall.
