36| Punishment at Mama K's house
Nobody's POV July 2
"Janet, what are you doing?"
"Umm watching House." Janet said in a confused tone. She doesn't know what she's doing wrong. When Toni came into the living room, she saw Skai's head laying on Janet's lap as she slept. The problem is that Skai is supposed to be on punishment, at Mama K's house.
"I thought you dropped her off at your mother's house?"
"I was, but she didn't want to go." Janet shrugged and played with her daughter's braids. Toni shook her head and sat next to her wife.
"Or you didn't want her to go?"
"No, she didn't want to go." Toni sighed and shook her daughter awake.
"Toni leave her. I'll drop her later."
"Mm, well I'm dropping her now." Skai rubbed her eyes and blinked a few times.
"I hope your stuff is packed because we are leaving in a few minutes."
"Do I have to go?"
"Yes, the same way you had to go to that concert, you have to go to Mama K's house." Skai huffed and got off of the couch, heading to her room.
Skai's POV
I didn't want to get out of the car but when I saw the look on my mother's face, I rushed out of the car. Yes, I do deserve a punishment but I could've stayed at my house. I'm going to be so bored though. I don't have my phone, iPad, or anything. I know for a fact that I will be in the garden in the kitchen helping Mama K and probably being a mechanic for my grandfather. I just hope that one of my cousins come over but knowing Mama K, she won't let them come over being that I'm on punishment.
The only reason why I went to the concert is because I brought the tickets before I asked my parents. I forgot to ask them and the tickets were selling fast so I just got them. And then when I asked them they said no. I didn't want the tickets to go to waste so I snuck and went. Was it worth it? Mmm, yeah. A little bit. The concert was amazing but when I got home— Mm Mm Mm, never again.
Janet's POV
I walked into the kitchen and I opened the fridge. I saw my carton of strawberries and took it out. I then headed over to the sink and washed them. I rubbed my stomach as I ate them. They are so delicious and juicy. I want to be a strawberry now. Hmmm, let's see what I can do with these. I opened the fridge and saw a jar of pickles. Yes! I took a pickle out, setting it on a plate. I put the jar back and began cutting up the pickle. I bit the strawberry and stuck a piece of the pickle in it. I bit the strawberry again, this time tasting the pickle and the fruit.
"Oh my gosh. So good."
"Those cravings are starting early I see." Toni said startling me a bit. I nodded and looked at her.
"Yes, and you have to try this baby. It sooo good."
"Mmm no thank you."
"Yes, you are eating it. I tried your cravings with you now you have to try mines."
"I never made you eat my cravings, Tamar ate them with me."
"Yes, you did. You made me try spaghetti with maple syrup."
"That was good and you know it."
"No, it wasn't and you're trying it." She shook her head no and tried to walk away but I grabbed her arm.
"Open your mouth, baby. Say ahh." Toni closed her mouth and I laughed.
"Open your mouth, Toni! It's good, I promise." She opened her mouth and I shoved the strawberry in her mouth. She began chewing and screwed up her face.
"It's good?"
"Hell no. Don't give me that again." Toni said and I chuckled.
"Oh, hush. Don't worry because you'll be eating more of my cravings and you might like them."
"Nope, I don't think so."
I laughed, "What did Mama say when you dropped off Skai?"
"Nothing at all. She just gave Skai a look and... I've never seen her so scared before."
"Bet she won't do it again though." Toni added and I nodded,
"And wouldn't, what are we making for dinner?" Since Azuree is vegan, we have to make meals to accommodate her eating habits. Sometimes, we have to make two separate meals because Christian doesn't really like vegan meals. Desiree will eat it along with Toni and I.
"I don't know. I don't feel like making two meals tonight."
"Same." She opened the freezer and pulled out a box of plant-based burger patties. Mm, those are so good and King likes those so he will eat them. I grabbed a frying pan and we started making dinner.
Skai's POV
I helped Mama K in the garden and I kind of had fun. Except for the bugs that were out there, biting me and stuff. We had a little talk and she told me that the next time I'm sent here on punishment won't be nice. I believe her. Now, I'm outside in the hot sun, holding a flashlight for my grandfather. He's fixing his car and I don't know why he needs a flashlight if the sun is out.
"You're not holding it properly Skai."
"Yes, I am." He fixed my hand position and I sighed. I'm tired of this, I feel like I'm in the movie Hole. The car that he's fixing is a 1962 Red Starfire with a silver streak in the middle, just like the one in the Cosby show. That car is so cool, I want it.
"Grandpa Joe?"
"Yes?"
"One day can I get this car? I like it."
"Are you gonna be good? Because if not you can kiss this car goodbye."
I nodded, "Yes I'll be good."
"Okay then, you can get this car." I smiled. He also had this other nice car. It's a green 1977 Ford LTD. I think he said Bigi wants that one.
Maybe staying here for the summer won't be that bad.
