Nobody's POV
February 11The Grammys is tomorrow and the girls are excited about seeing the different celebrities. Right now everyone is getting ready to go and eat dinner. Earlier on in the day the pre-Grammy took place a few blocks from the hotel. Whitney, Toni, Janet, and Paris attended that event. Whitney sang with Kelly Price and they sounded good together.
"Mommy, are you almost done?" Paris asked her mother but she didn't answer her.
"You hear the water running dummy. She can't hear you." Blanket said to his sister and she nudged him. About fifteen minutes later, when her mother didn't come out of the bathroom they began to grow concerned. Prince knocked on the door but didn't hear a response. They knew that their mother was suicidal when their father passed but those thoughts had gone away. At the pre-Grammy party, she seemed so happy so Paris doubted that her mother had killed herself.
"Mommy?! Mommy!" Paris yelled while banging on the door.
"What if she's ignoring us?"
"It's been too long. Kick the door open!" Paris yelled in fear. She didn't want to find her mother on the other side of the door dead. She would start panicking and that's exactly what happened when Prince kicked the door open. Whitney was laying face down in the bathtub. There was no blood or no sign of any drugs around. Paris rushed to her mother and attempted to pick her up out of her water.
"Help me." She said to her brothers who helped their sister. Once Whitney was on the floor she got on top of her mother and began doing CPR. It didn't work, Whitney was already gone. Paris beat on her mother's chest and sobbed.
"Why Mommy?! Why?!" She couldn't believe that she lost her mother. The only parent she had left. Biggie wiped his tears and covered his mother's naked body with a few towels. Paris left out of the bathroom and slid down a wall. She began panting as her chest tightened. She was having a panic attack from seeing her mother in that state. Only Whitney knew how to calm her daughter down.
"Just breathe baby. In and out, breathe." She heard her mother's voice in her head but it didn't work. Paris knew that her mother was dead so that voice was fake to her.
"I'm getting Auntie Janet," Prince said and ran down the hallway to get his aunt. Paris started having panic attacks after her father passed. It's been about two years since her last one and she has an idea as to why it started back today. Janet rushed into the room and saw her niece on the floor panting. She sat on the floor next to her and put Paris' hands above her head.
"Just breathe. Follow me." Janet took a deep breath in and let it out. Paris did the same but hers was shaky.
"Good job. Try again, baby." Paris nodded and did the breathing exercise again. Her breathing began to go back to normal and she started crying.
"What's the matter?" Paris didn't answer, she just mumbled words incoherent to her aunt.
"What's wrong with Paris?" Janet asked her nephews and Prince shook his head, running his hands down his face. Paris opened her mouth to speak and Janet looked at her.
"I—Mommy. S-she's gone, she went with daddy!" Paris sobbed again and Janet rose her brow and headed to the bathroom. She saw Whitney's body on the floor and her heart dropped.
"Oh, my goodness." Janet covered her mouth and closed her eyes. She couldn't believe that her sister in law is dead just like her brother. Her niece and nephews lost both of their parents in the span of three years. She walked back into the main room and look at the children.
"I'm sorry." Was all that she could say. What do you say to three children that lost both of their parents? The people that were supposed to watch you grow up, get married, have children, all sorts of stuff. They are so young having to carry the weight of losing both of their parents. Janet grabbed her phone and called the ambulance to get Whitney's body.
A few moments later the ambulance arrived while the children were saying their last goodbyes. Janet had to pull Paris away from Whitney's body. She was hysterical. Who wouldn't be after losing their mother that way? The ambulance wheeled Whitney's body away in a body bag just as Toni, the girls, Tamar, Katherine, and Cissy came up from the lobby. Janet sighed and leaned against the wall in the hallway.
"Baby?" Toni called out for her and rushed to her wife. Toni told Tamar to take the girls inside of their hotel room and that's just what she did.
"Are you okay? What happened?" Toni asked holding her wife's face in her hands. Janet didn't answer instead she just cried.
"Baby please." Toni begged and when Janet opened her mouth, a blood-curdling scream replaced her voice. Toni snapped her head towards Cissy who was holding her granddaughter's hand.
"Oh my goodness no." Toni whispered.
"Baby please tell me that isn't true?"
"I'm sorry." Tears fell down Toni's face. Whitney was like a big sister to her. They did almost everything together, got piercings, and hung out almost all the time. She was always there for Toni and vice versa. Toni walked over to Cissy and hugged her tight. Her only daughter, her last child was gone. She couldn't believe it.
Tamar's POV
I heard Cissy scream and my eyes widened. I knew what had happened as soon as we came down the hallway. Whitney was the only one missing so it was very likely that her body was the one in the bag. I think Desiree knew too, they say babies and dogs can feel death before anyone else or ghosts. When the ambulance pulled up in the lobby Desiree was crying and screaming for Whitney. We were going up but the EMT. took our elevator so we just let them go. It seemed like they were in a rush but we didn't know that they were going to Whitney's room. I can't believe she's gone just like her husband. I know her kids are devastated. I don't know how they will manage.
