56| Eissa Joseph Jackson

Nobody's POV
January 5

"We're finally home." Janet said and sighed. Toni carried Eissa inside with his car seat. His eyes were open as he looked around the house, getting used to the scenery.

"I was so tired of that hospital. Making me sick."

Janet laughed, "And there were so many babies born on that day, and they all looked the same."

"Yup, but we knew which one was ours. A nine-pound baby!"

"And Desiree was eight pounds even."

"We give birth to big babies."

"And do but it's all worth it in the end." Janet smiled at her son and picked him up from his car seat. Soon their children came downstairs, hearing their parents come home.

"Hiii."

"Awww he's so cute and little."

"Did it hurt when you pooped him out, momma?" Desiree asked and they laughed.

"Yes, it did hurt, so bad. Don't have kids."

"I won't."

"Can we hold him?"

"Sure, just go and wash y'all hands first." They nodded and headed to the downstairs bathroom to wash their hands. Toni sat next to her wife and Eissa stared at her.

"Dang, I can't sit next to my wife?" Toni joked and Janet laughed. Soon their children came back and sat around the couch. Desiree was the closest to Janet so she handed her Eissa first.

"You have to support his head baby." Desiree nodded and her mother helped her. She smiled and admired her brother in awe.

"Momma he's so cute."

"Isn't he?"

"Mmhmm, but he's white."

Toni laughed, "That's the color that babies are when they are born. Skai said the same thing about you."

"Oh yeah, I remember." Skai said and then laughed.

(Chapter 56 of Funny how time flies)

It was time to switch now so Janet picked Eissa up and placed him in Christian's arms. He carefully held his baby brother, making sure to support his head.

"Hi Eissa, I'm going to teach you how to get all of the ladies but you have to be kind to them also. Chivalry is not dead."

Janet held Eissa in her arms as she breastfed him. She was trying to get him to fall asleep but every time she would detach him from her nipple, he would whine. Toni is in the shower and after she's done, Janet would go in.

"Okay Eissa, you're not even drinking anything." She told him and he moved in her arms. Janet slowly detached him and put his blue pacifier in his mouth. He didn't cry this time and she smiled. After she burped him, she stood up and gently rocked him to sleep. Within a few minutes, Eissa was knocked out in his mother's arms. Janet smiled to herself and slowly placed him in his bassinet. Eissa would be sleeping in the couple's room for the first couple of weeks and then he would go into his room.

It's now nearing four and Eissa's cries woke the couple up. Toni was the first to get up and she turned on the lap light. She walked over to his bassinet and picked him up. Feeling Eissa's diaper, she noticed that it was wet and needed to be changed. She gently placed him onto the bed and changed his diaper. After Toni was done, he was still cranky so she handed him to Janet to get fed.

"Yeah, this the last one." Janet said as she rubbed her eye. Toni laughed and shook her head.

"Agree." Once Eissa was full and asleep, Janet put him back into his bassinet. She then cuddled up next to her wife and the couple were off to sleep.

January 24

"Who's goddamn white baby is that?" Tamar joked and Genevieve laughed.

"That's your baby, he just lightskinded."

"Stop clowning my baby." Toni said and playfully pushed her sister. Tamar laughed and hugged her. Some of the family decided to come over to meet the newest addition to the family. Eissa is now three weeks old and is growing really fast.

"He's so chunkyyy." Toni's aunt, Teri, gushed over her nephew.

"I know, reminds me of Janet." Katherine said and Janet's face turned a bright red from embarrassment.

"Nooo Mama don't." She said and Katherine laughed.

"Okay, I'll save that for later." She joked and kissed her daughter's cheek.

"So how did your delivery go?" Tamar asked and Janet smiled.

"It went good, better than I expected, but I was in so much painnn. My back, my legs, everything. I wasn't in labor for that long though, about three hours and Eissa came out within ten minutes."

"Ohh, you had it easy."

"Yes, you did. Can't believe it." Katherine said and Janet laughed.

"Mama, what's the longest labor you had?"

"Seventeen hours and with you. You took so long to come out that I was contemplating a cesarian."

"Seventeen? Oh yeah, I had it good." After spending time at the Jackson's house for a few more hours, the family slowly started to leave. Out from her shower, Janet walked downstairs and saw Eissa balled up in a circle on Azuree's chest. That's his favorite place to sleep every time Azuree has him. Her hand laid protectively on his back as the two of them slept. Janet smiled and snapped a quick picture. She saw the half-empty bottle on the table and covered it. She then got up from the couch and headed into the kitchen, placing the bottle into the fridge.

"Hi, baby." Toni said as she walked into the kitchen.

"Hi, love. Eissa didn't drink much again."

"Mm, I think he's starting to realize that it's not your nipple." Janet laughed and leaned against the counter. Toni walked over to her and kissed her lips.

"How are you feeling baby?"

"Good. I love being a mother and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it but that's our last child. Next time, pull out." She joked and the couple laughed. Janet hugged her wife and leaned her head against her shoulder. Toni wrapped her arms around Janet's waist and rubbed her back.

"No, but seriously, it was a bit hard at first because all he does is eat, sleep, cry, pee, and shit but it's getting easier. I'm so tired but like... It's all worth it and I wouldn't trade our kids for anything else in the world. Having kids is like falling in love over and over again and I love it. You and the kids are helping me so much with Eissa and I'm thankful for that..."
