90| Lupus Nephritis

Toni's POV

My eyes fluttered open as I looked around the room. I swallowed hard and then groaned in pain. My throat hurts so bad, probably from the tube that had to be placed down my throat. I don't even remember much. I just remember being in the car with Zee and she went to the store to get me water to take with my medicine. I must've blacked out because when I came to, we were pulling up in the emergency room.

I just hate having lupus. It makes me so scared that one day I won't be here anymore. Especially when I get flare ups and I pass out for a long time, I get scared. This only happened one time and Janet was with me. We were both so scared but I didn't want to go to the hospital.

I looked around again, for Zee but I only saw Janet. Where did she go? Janet sat in a chair and her body leaned over, laying on my lap. I know she's probably so uncomfortable right now. I laid my hand on her face and softly brushed her hair from her face.

"Love?" I groggily spoke and winced because of the pain coming from my throat. I played with her ear and she sat up. She looked annoyed but when she saw me, she smiled widely.

"Baby!" Janet exclaimed and hugged me tight. I winced and she quickly backed away.

"I'm sorry baby, I forgot. I'm just so excited. I miss you baby."

"I miss you too baby."

"Are you in any pain?"

"A little bit but I can handle it."

"Are you sure? I can call Jackie so she can give you some more medicine."

I shook my head, "I'm fine. Thank you baby. You know what will make me feel better."

"What?"

"A kiss." I said and poked my lips out. She touched my lips with her two fingers and I sucked my teeth.

"Stop it baby, I'm being for real."

"And I am too, your heart rate is going to go up and I know that. We don't want the doctors coming in here."

"Just a peck."

"Fine. Just a peck Toni." I nodded and she leaned over pecking my lips. Just as quick as she kissed me she pulled away. I whined and she giggled.

"Stooopp baby, it's not funny. I miss you." I'm really about to cry. I grabbed her arm and she stood up leaning. I looked up at her and pouted.

"Toni, it's not that serious."

"Yes it is. Just kiss me baby." She sighed and kissed my lips. I smiled against her lips and pulled her closer to me. I slipped my tongue inside of her mouth and she sucked on it. I pulled away and pecked her lips a few times. I looked at her lips and back at her. I want more kisses.

"I—"

"No more Toni." I huffed and closed my eyes. Janet sat back down and held my hand. I opened my eyes back up and looked at her.

"Toni, baby it's going to be okay." She said and I could see her trying not to laugh. I don't know what's so funny.

"How do you know?"

"Because when you recover, I'll give you more than kisses."

"Ouu I like that. Where's Zee baby? I thought she was here."

"She was."

"Mmhmm, and did she leave to go get some food?"

"No she left to go home. After I arrived she told me that she was leaving. I was against that but she was persistent."
