37| Not Juice
Nobody's POV
"Mommy this Apple juice tastes weird..." Desiree said as she walked into the living room holding a cup in her hand. Toni rose her brow and grabbed the cup from her daughter. Not to long ago couple had come back from their marriage counseling session and this one went well. They talked about what they've done for the week and if they argued or not.
"What do you mean it tastes weird?"
"It tastes spicy." She said and made a face.
"Huh? Show me the juice." The last time Toni checked, they were running low on Apple juice. Desiree opened the fridge and took out a wine bottle. The bottle had a picture of an apple on it so she automatically thought that it was Apple juice. Toni's eyes widened as she closed the fridge.
She looked at her daughter, "Desiree that is not juice. How much did you drink?"
"Not a lot because it burns, it's spicy Mommy."
"I know that baby because you drank wine."
"Wine?!"
"You didn't read the bottle?"
"No, I saw the Apple and thought that it was Apple juice in a fancy bottle." Toni shook her head and dumped the remaining of the wine that was in her daughter's cup. She placed the bottle in the fridge and looked at Desiree.
"Next time read okay baby?"
"Okay. Do we have apple juice?"
Toni chuckled, "No we don't, we have to go to the store."
"Okay, I'll just drink water." Toni nodded and headed upstairs. She walked past her son's room and heard him playing the game.
"Maybe if you got rid of that old yee-yee ass haircut you got, you'd get some bitches on your dick—" The tv said and Toni rose her brow.
"Christian!" She walked into his room and he immediately turned down the volume on the tv.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm playing GTA and it started me over. I promise."
"Okay." She shook her head and left his room. Toni then walked to her daughter's room and saw her watching ER.
"Oh my gosh, she's so rude." Toni laughed and Azuree turned her head towards the door. She smiled seeing her mother standing there.
"Who's rude?"
"Kerry, she's so rude. Is she going to change?"
"Mm, I'm not telling you."
"Mommy come on! You watched this show so tell me."
"She might."
"Ugh, fine." Toni walked into her room and saw Janet laying in bed while watching Empire. She laid down next to her wife and Janet laid her head on Toni's chest.
"You know, Phylicia made me so mad in this show but I still love her."
"Mmm, you and her made me mad in for colored girls."
"Why? Because we didn't catch the kids?"
"That's exactly why."
Janet laughed, "We weren't supposed to catch them."
"Well, I still love you even though you didn't catch them, not even attempt to." Janet was about to respond but Toni's phone rang.
"One second baby." Toni reached over and grabbed her phone. She saw that her sister Tamar is calling her so she answered, putting it on speaker.
