I woke up early that morning to the sounds of pug face Parkinson's loud hair dryer and noises about how much Draco likes her. I rolled my eyes at this comment and got up and put on my new school robes. I shook Astoria wake as she was still sleeping in and we were almost late for breakfast.
"Come on we're going to be late!" I said as she moaned her eyes slowly opening.
"Five more minutes.." her eyes now shutting again.
"Lucille already left!" I told. Her this comment made her jump out of bed and start rambling about how we gotta get going or we'll be late. I shrieked with laughter as she pushed Pansy out of the bathroom to get dressed and Pansy fell to the ground with a loud thud. Once she had finished dressing we headed out of the dungeons and headed towards the great hall. We walked in to see most of the school their already eating and the teachers handing out schedules. We took a seat next to Lucille, and I started munching on some toast. A professor with log black greasy hair and black cloak came walking down the Slytherin table handing first years their schedule. He paused when he reached me. I took the paper from his hand and gave him a confused look as started to walk handing schedules out even though his eyes never truly left me.
"Who's that professor?" I asked Astoria
"That's Professor Snape, was a big You-Know-Who follower back then and head of Slytherin house. I believe he is the Potions Master," answered the girl across from us, known as our newest roommate Scarlett. She then got up and left the hall.
"Whats her problem?" I asked no one in particular
"Who knows, probably just mad about having to share a house with her brother Adrian." Lucille answered
"Anyway, what class you got first?" Astoria asked
"Potions with Gryffindor." I answered
"Well that ought to be fun. Everyone knows that Snape hates Gryffindor and he'll probably pick on Potter." Lucille answered
"We should probably start heading their don't want to have a bad impression." Astoria said. We got up and grabbed our books and headed back down to the dungeons. We opened the door to see a few tables with cauldrons and ingredients next to them. There were other people now coming. We decided to sit together and took a empty table. Well mostly empty besides Scarlett. Just as we sit down, the door burst open and Professor Snape comes strutting out.
"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few..." Snape says glancing at Draco, who smirked in return.
"Who possess, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." but of course his beautiful speech is interrupted by him noticing Potter scribbling on a piece of paper. Granger nudges him and he stops.
"Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not pay attention!" He says icily stepping over to Harry.
"Mister Potter. Our new celebrity. Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Snape asked clearly knowing that he didn't know. Harry doesn't answer.
"You don't know? Well, let's try again. Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to find me a bezoar?"
"I don't know, sir." Harry answers
"And what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?"
"I don't know, sir." Harry says again. At this point Grangers hand is now up in the air looking as if she is about to burst.
