It was my last day at Malloy Manor before heading back to Hogwarts. I couldn't tell if I was excited to see my friends again and the DA, or sad because it would be less time with Draco and more time with Umbridge. I had finished packing my trunk up and brought it down stairs myself. Narcissa was there waiting for me and Draco. Draco came down the stairs soon after me with his own trunk. He caught me looking at him and sent a smirk my way. I adverted my eyes in an attempt to keep from blushing.
Narcissa looked back and forth between the two of us. Draco joined my side and we apparated to the station. Narcissa didn't mention the incident from last week we had caused. I decided it was because she took notice that we were back on speaking terms. Well...more than speaking terms but nobody knew that. We had kissed more times than I would like to admit. I hadn't didn't about what we were exactly. He said he wanted to be together but he never actually said if we were, and I was to nervous to actually ask him if we were dating. As we walked towards the train I felt a cold hand slip into mine. I let a small smile on my face and glance at Draco who had his usual smirk on his face.
Narcissa eyes us once more before leaving. We walk hand in hand onto the train before we both go our separate ways. I head to my usual compartment and opened the door. Lucille was sitting on Harper's lap with his legs wrapped around waist. Her hand played with his hair as they passionately kissed. The both break apart at the sound of me opening the door. Their eyes widen as they see me standing there. Lucille scrambles to get off of Harper as he turns beat red.
"I'll give you a minute to..." I say trailing off before closing the door. Eventually Astoria spots me and joins my side asking what I was doing. I quickly explain what I saw. After a few minutes I finally open the door again and take a seat across from them. They both look at me and immediately avoid eye contact and turn red. The train starts to move and we sit in silence.
"Well, anything interesting happen over the holidays?" Astoria finally says. I shrugged.
"Anything interesting Lucille?" She glared at me before eventually telling us how her and Harper had confessed to each other and weren't in a relationship. Just more than friends. Eventually the awkwardness finally left and we all told each other about our holiday adventures. I told the, about me and Draco being on speaking terms and our adventure during the party (leaving out the kissing part). I didn't mention our new relationship as we decided to keep it a secret for now. But I had a feeling one of my friends would find out eventually.
The train soon halted to a stop and arrived at Hogwarts. We exited the train and headed into the castle. I passed Ginny on the way and walked with her a bit catching up. She told me about Mr.Weasley and what had been happening with the Order. She talked about how once again Harry was completely oblivious to her presence. I had started to feel bad for her. She really liked Harry, but he spent most of his time running and fighting Voldemort. And I had to admit that I didn't think he would ever try to get with a girl. Unless it was Cho Chang who he seemed suddenly obsessed with.
As we walked into the Great Hall and took our place at the Slytherin table, Styx flew in with a copy of the daily prophet. I opened the paper and gasped as I read.
'The Ministry of Magic announced late last night that there has been a mass breakout from Azkaban.
Speaking to reporters in his private office, Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic, confirmed that ten high-security prisoners escaped in the early hours of yesterday evening, and that he has already informed the Muggle Prime Minister of the dangerous nature of these individuals.
"We find ourselves, most unfortunately, in the same position we were two and a half years ago when the murderer Sirius Black escaped," said Fudge last night. "Nor do we think the two breakouts are unrelated. An escape of this magnitude suggests outside help, and we must remember that Black, as the first person ever to break out of Azkaban, would be ideally placed to help others follow in his footsteps. We think it likely that these individuals, who include Black's cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, have rallied around Black as their leader. We are, however, doing all we can to round up the criminals and beg the magical commu- nity to remain alert and cautious. On no account should any of these individuals be approached.'
