We aparated to platform 9 3/4 early that morning. So early I had barely anytime to brush my hair. I walked up to the Hogwarts Express to board it with Draco when I saw familiar blonde. I told Draco to go find his little gang while I ran up and hugged Lucille.
"How was Paris?" I ask thrilled to see her.
"Well, I mean nothing I haven't seen before. Mum used to live there when she was younger so we go there sometimes for the holidays to visit her family." She told me as we found a compartment on the train.
"How was your break with the Malfoys?" She asked.
"Eh, the usual. Except they were a little nicer." I shrugged. "Guess me being out in Slytherin got me somewhat on the good side."
"I guess." She just responded though it was very evident she was in deep thought about something that she didn't want to voice aloud.
"So..next year..gonna try for the team?" I asked trying to change the subject and the awkward silence.
"The team?" She asked confused.
"The Quidditch team!" I exclaim. She made a a 'O' with her mouth.
"Never played before. School was the first time I had ever ridden a broom." She tells me.
"But I thought your parents were wizard surely they let you play when you were kids with your brother and sister?" I asked shocked. She merely shrugs in response.
"My dad didn't like brooms, thinks there dangerous and mum never argued against it. Plus my brother hasn't even shown a sign of magic yet and since my father is muggleborn it isn't really that hard to believe he is a Squib, especially since my younger sister who is only four already performed magic twice now when he should be getting his letter in two years. Well that's if he gets his letter." She explains trying to not to convey emotion though I can tell that she was worried and sad about her brother not having magic yet.
Squibs used to be hunted down and killed or thrown in Azkaban during the first Wizarding War and if there was to be another one most imagine it even worse for those of non pure blood or magical abilities. But I merely nodded my head not voicing my opinions on how he probably has magic just hasn't shown it yet but knowing this wouldn't be a comfort as many people have probably told her the same things. I decided that the silence was good enough for now and we sat in silence before we got up and changed into our robes.
"I need your help." Lucille stated plainly breaking the silence. I was at this point very intrigued.
"And what is this help you acquire?" I say wiggling my eyebrows.
"Well-You see- I- There's this-" she starts fumbling with her words.
"Take your time."
"TheresthisreallycuteguyatschoolthatIreallylikeandIdontknowhattodoorhowtotellhim!" she says fast oh in one quick breathe.
"Come again?"
"There is this really cute guy at school I really like..." she takes a deep breath "But I don't know what to do or how to tell him that I like him." She says with a sigh "I tried asking my brother but he knows nothing about crushes so he was like no help whatsoever." I try not to laugh at her dilemma but it was true oh hilarious. I had never had this problems as growing up with Draco had completely ruined the idea of dating for me. Plus in my option we're to young to date and crushes just hold you back and break your heart and make you do weird things. So basically there useless but I wasn't about to tell Lucille this and break her heart. That was her crushes job.
"So..who's this guy?" I tried to ask cooly.
"I-I can't tell you." She says
"What! Why?" I ask a little mad now.
