61: Valentine's Day in Kunugigaoka

A/n: characters from class 2-A's face reveal!! Enjoy every moment of them guys bc we're about to move to class E arc and will rarely see them again🥲 (except Arina).

Despite the alarming situation in America, the people in this part of the globe didn't take it seriously (yet) while setting their minds more on the upcoming Valentine's Day.

Who to give chocolates to? Which brand of chocolates should I buy? Should I make my own chocolate? were the common wonders among girls. Although for girls in Kunugigaoka School in particular, the answer to those questions was quite obvious. To who? Answer: of course the almighty Asano Gakushuu; Which brand? Answer: the more expensive the better and you will have a higher chance to be noticed; Homemade? Answer: fine but stick to the expensive ingredients.

'But does Asano-kun actually have a crush on Arina?' the girls kept questioning despite how many times he had objected to the rumor, as he was spotted treating the foreign girl like a princess on occasion. Therefore, they expected to see something from Arina too this time.

"Oh, Big Sis? She's quite busy nowadays," revealed Ryuuki to readers. "Every time there is an occasion revolving around people's happiness, she would just go the whole nine yards. Yesterday we had a ginormous Valentine's party -- but you know, it was more like a chocolate party. There were chocolate cakes, chocolate steaks, chocolate fondue, chocolate ice creams, and many more. We made a notorious criminal suffer by tying him up and starving him for days then forcing him to watch us eat until he can't bare it anymore and sign our contract -- see? Big Sis can be ruthless sometimes, and by that I didn't mention the part when she brutally pressed that guy's head into the boiling chocolate fondue just because he made fun of her height."

"I thought experienced criminals like it thrilling that way," said Arina, being sincerely innocent. "Remember? He stuck a burning cigarette into Japana's nostril so I reckoned he lives and breathes for thrills and even more than I do. It would be a lie if I say I don't admire him. That's why I had to catch up and gift him the best Valentine's gift ever -- the very proof I have is that he loves me now."

That was days after. Today was February 14th -- the official Valentine's Day -- Asano was so thoughtful and 'efficient' that instead of gifting anything that she mightn't touch, knowing her tendency to go for homemade chocolates, he was quick to buy her plenty of ingredients and tools she will require two days in prior. It was Asano's Valentine for his beloved crush, and guess what? Instead of mistaking it for friendliness, this time Arina actually felt the heat rise up to her cheeks. Wh-Why? Because this time he managed to say:

"No matter what it is, even if it was the stuff of your imagination, I will still travel to the moon and back just to see your sweet smile. My beloved Arina, I have not spent a day without loving the smile of yours."

They say boys fall in love with their eyes while girls do with their ears, so it was for Arina. She stood stunned along with burning cheeks and gently raised her hands to cover them.

"At this rate I will just fall in love with you if you keep being so romantical like this, Asano-kun," she sheepishly said in a tone so low Asano had to inch forward to catch, and a satisfying grin formed on his face.

'So that's the way,' after all these months, he had finally found the way to her heart, which was through cheesy speech. Perhaps it was due to his lack of verbal expression that was to blame all these times.

Even better, after he followed Arina inside her house and flirted with more cheesy words she seemed to fall deeper for him.

"No, stop," she said, flustering, but had to snap out of it to focus on making chocolates testing the newly gifted ingredients from him.
