IDENTITY's Playlist

Does anyone imagine the scenes they are writing as movie scenes? Usually I would try to incorporate music into the scene I'm writing to bring more life to it.

Music is such a huge part of my creative journey, and today I will be walking you through the pieces of music that have inspired or resonated heavily with the plot, events, and characters in this book.

FFVII Remake Aerith's theme (Orchestra ver.)

I feel like this particular version really suits Arina's character. It has this touch of childlike wonder, pure, girlish, soft, and full of hope.

This version is less cheerful, but it emphasizes more on the already existing melancholic melody, which makes it still suitable for Arina, given her journey isn't all that happy after all.

Yume to Hazakura

Asano and Arina's three years of knowing each other, as if a dream come and gone (already featured so I won't put a video here).

LUNA (FFXV soundtrack)

I listened to this while writing Arina's last words to Asano and what she had made him promise before their farewell. It's such a bittersweet piece of music imo

'After our time is over, I will continue to look after you, forever, and always.'

My Mother's Daughter by Karliene

It's the last song in this video (from 21:14) for some reason the video for this song was removed and I couldn't find it lol

This song and the whole story of Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth had inspired Arina's background story and her conflict with her father, the greatness of her mother and how Arina was her mother's daughter.

I need you by my side (GOT ss6 soundtrack)

I think this piece of music is really suitable for the scene when Arina, despite just losing general Fedorov, someone who had saved her life when she was just a child, had decided to brush her misery away to climb back on the escarpment and charge back into danger to save other beings.

Desmond Doss with his goodness and altruistic nature is a big inspiration to Arina's character. This soundtrack just sounds like willpower to me.

A soldier who fought a war without a weapon.

Mhysa (GOT ss3 soundtrack)

Already featured. I actually like this track the best.

The Winds of Winter (GOT ss6 soundtrack)

Already featured. The original background music for the parade should have been Soviet March (a video game track) but I just like this track so much that I decided to use it, also the scene of this ost fits the context of the parade scene very well

Finally, last but not least, this popular song that everyone knows already.

This song didn't inspire my work or anything. I was just in complete amazement when I heard it playing in public and listened to the lyrics clearly to point out how much it resonated with Arina's character.
