If there's one thing you needed to know about me, it would be the fact that I hated showing affection in public. I wasn't a fan of flirting openly either, something about it just irked me and maybe that's why I stayed clear of all the couples in school. I didn't think my pet peeves could annoy me even more till I had to witness the gruesome flirting session between Jace and another one of his skanks.
I had woken up feeling pretty bright today but all that went down the drain when the first thing I saw when I walked into school was Jace.
And to make things worse, he was openly flirting with one of the cheerleaders with his arms on either side of her head, caging her against the wall. Heather gasped when she saw the scene in front of her but I wasn't surprised. This was pretty expected from a jerk wasn't it? Maybe now would people realize what I meant when I said that I hated this guy's guts. Pretty soon, he was just going to have the reputation of sleeping with half the student population, I bet.
I rolled my eyes and detached my eyes from the disgusting scene in front of me as I scurried past the couple but as per usual, lady luck wasn't by my side. Jace just had to look up when I walked past and his face lit up like christmas lights as soon as he saw me. He pulled himself away from the confused cheerleader who was intensely staring at me for interrupting her moment with a jock.
"Ally." Jace greeted as he fell into step beside me. I scoffed and childishly turned to Heather instead.
"Have you finished the history paper?" I asked Heather as we walked down the hallway. Jace snickered at my attempt to ignore him but I didn't care.
Heather gave me a blank look before nodding her head. "I would love to stay and help you with this game but we aren't together for first period so I have to go." Heather leaned in to whisper to me before glancing over at Jace. "Goodluck." She giggled before jogging off the opposite way.
Ugh, I was abandoned by the best friend, just great.
"Alaska, you can't ignore me for long, even if you tried your ultimate best." Jace spoke up after a minute. "But it's really cute to see you try."
"Don't speak to me." I replied harshly. After our mini squabble yesterday in literature, I had decided to stay absolutely away from this jerk but he was acting as if nothing had happened between us. Was he pretending or did he really think that I had forgotten about it?
"Make me." He whispered into my ear and I stopped in my tracks, unable to function properly. Damn it, why did he have this kind of an effect on me? I regained my composure and stalked off to my lockers with Jace following behind like a puppy.
"What do you want?" I grumbled as Jace leaned against the locker next to mine.
"I want to ask you something."
"Shoot."
"I wanted to ask you out on a-"
"Hell no!" I exclaimed even before he finished his sentence and Jace's eyes widened in shock. "I am not going anywhere with you so you can save your breath."
"Why not, Ally? Just tell me one good reason why you don't want to go out with me." Jace asked and I scoffed.
"Because I don't want to be seen with a manwhore? Because you drive me crazy and not in a good way?" I offered and he just smirked.
"Sweetheart, I am not a manwhore." He said sweetly and I raised my eyebrows at him before gesturing to the cheerleader that he was just flirting with.
"I can't help it if girls want a piece of this!" Jace pointed to his body while grinning and I rolled my eyes.
"You're so delusional, it's kind of sad." I slammed my locker shut and walked in the direction of my first class. Needless to say, Jace followed behind. "Since girls want a piece of you so bad, why don't you ask one of them out on a date?"
