Edward's POV

I'm an angel with a shotgun,
Fighting 'til the war's won,
I don't care if heaven won't take me back.

I shifted to my side, opening my eyes slightly as the words of The Cab's song travelled up to the room. It took me awhile to realize that it was coming from the stereo we had downstairs and not from the radio next to the bed. I opened my eyes fully and stared up at the ceiling before letting my hands graze the bed sheets for Bella.

But she wasn't next to me.

I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.
Don't you know you're everything I have?
And I wanna live, not just survive tonight.

I sat up in bed and ran my hand through my hair as I smiled slightly at the song playing downstairs. No doubt, Bella was downstairs blasting the stereo and doing some chores. I looked at the bedside clock and remembered that Bella and I had an off day today; a day just to ourselves.

I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom to finish my morning routine before meeting Bella for breakfast.

I stepped out of the bathroom 20 minutes later with my hair dripping with water. I hastily dried it with my towel and changed into some comfortable, home clothes. A plain t-shirt and sweatpants were definitely so much better than work clothes.

I walked down the stairs and made my way around the corner to the kitchen where I spotted my beauty right away. Bella was at the stove, with her hair up in a messy bun and she was wearing a tank top with her Nike sweatpants as well, the one that matched mine.

The song in the stereo had changed and Westlife was playing now. I smiled unknowingly as I watched my wife work around the kitchen like the Masterchef she was. I could smell the aroma of her signature waffles in the air and I smiled even wider.

"Good morning." Bella sang without turning around to look at me. I frowned in confusion and went to stand behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist in the process.

"How did you know I was here?" I asked as I planted a kiss on the side of her head. God, she smelt amazing.

"I've an Edward sensor in me." She chuckled as she placed her hand on my arm and used the other hand to stir the raspberry sauce for the waffles. "It kind of goes insane when you're near. Heart beats faster, your cologne reaches me faster than I see you, you know the usual."

I hugged her tighter as I pulled her slightly closer to me. "How come I never knew about this?"

"I thought I made it obvious since we were 10 years old?" Bella finally turned off the stove and turned around to face me. "You're telling me you never knew why I smile like a lunatic when you're near?" Bella was genuinely surprised and I simply nodded, trying to hold back my laughter.

"Well now you know." Bella smiled.

"I've a Bella sensor too." I muttered as I kissed Bella's forehead. "And it's going crazy right now."

I felt Bella smile against my neck as she pulled me into a tight hug. "Come have your breakfast, we can go out once we're done."

I nodded and carried the plates of food out to the dining table. "You made a lot of food." I pointed out.

Bella turned off the stereo on the way to the dining table as she walked before me. "When we aren't at work, we eat like Kings and Queens." Bella gave me a huge smile before sitting opposite me. "So enjoy."

I chuckled and served Bella some waffles and pancakes before taking some for myself. "So, where do you want to go today?"

Bella kept silent as she chewed on her food and I took a bite, watching her think through the question. "Somewhere where there's only the two of us?" Bella suggested and in a second, her eyes sparkled. "Let's do something we haven't done in ages. Hiking, trekking, anything!"
