It was that time of year in Ponvyille where they celebrated the version of Valentine's Day Malibu learned of back on earth called Hearts and Hooves Day.

Malibu right now was in town trying to get a present for Rainbow Dash since this was his first Hearts and Hooves day with her. But while he was at a chocolate stand, he spotted the CMCs leaving with supplies for what could obviously be a card.

Curious he went over to see what was up. "Hey guys, what's going on?" He asked. Applebloom smiled. "We're gonna make the biggest Hearts and Hooves day card for Miss Cheerilee of course!" She squealed. "Yeah, you wanna come?" Scootaloo asked.

Malibu figured it couldn't hurt and he could always get the present later. He nodded, following his little friends into the clubhouse where they got to work. It was hard but they were now nearly done. "Hmm... I just don't think it is quite finished," Applebloom stated. Sweetie Belle agreed. "I know what you mean. If it is for Miss Cheerilee, it needs to be perfect! Hearts and Hooves Day only comes once a year after all!"

They then proceeded to add more ribbon, lace and glitter. It wound up being a huge heart shaped card that looked ready to fall over, the little fillies holding it up the best they could. Malibu laughed a little from nerves. "S-sorry about it being so big, Ma'am," He said, Cheerilee did her own laugh. "No trouble, Malibu. I love it."

Applebloom spoke up. "We just wanted to let you know that we think you're the best teacher in the whole wide world! And that we think you're super! And that we love you so so much!" The card fell down, covering all three. Malibu managed to move aside so it didn't fall on him, seeing Cheerilee trying her best not to laugh. "And we want you to have the best hearts and hooves day ever!"

Cheerilee looked quite thankful. "Thank you so much. I love it, I really do." Malibu pawed the ground. "I helped," He said. Cheerilee looked at him. "Speaking of which, do you have anything planned with your special somepony?"

Malibu swallowed. "Uh... dunno. Not even sure Dash wants to even celebrate this holiday," He said shakily, the CMCs staring at him in shock. "Are you for real, Mal? You deserve the best date with my idol!" Scootaloo chirped, flapping a couple feet in the air but not high since her wings were disabled.

Cheerilee put a hoof on his shoulder. "I'm sure you and Rainbow Dash will have the best Hearts and Hooves day, Malibu." She turned to the class. "Alright, everypony, who's ready to play 'Pin the Heart on the Pony'?" It was replied with a lot of cheers, Malibu's ears lowered as he left the schoolhouse, leaving the cmcs to ponder his trouble.

Scootaloo saw how depressed Malibu was. "If anypony deserves Rainbow Dash to be a very special somepony it is him!" She declared, pointing. Sweetie Belle suddenly gave a loud gasp, her eyes shining. Applebloom stared, tilting her head. "Uh, you alright?"

She nodded. "I'm more than alright. I've just come up with the perfect date for our friends! Follow me!" The gang ran out once the school bell rang luckily enough, going to touch up the gazebo for Malibu and Rainbow Dash.

"Flowers! Don't forget the flowers!" Sweetie Belle advised, Applebloom jumped. "Oops! I'm on it!" Scootaloo spotted Rainbow Dash flying down from above, and Malibu walking from the other end. She managed to encourage them both to come over to the gazebo. "They're coming!" She whispered. The cmcs zipped up to Malibu, grinning big. Malibu's ears were perked a little.

"H-hi, guys. So... why did you want me here?" He asked in confusion. Applebloom pointed to a tree. "Can you tell us what tree this is?" Malibu frowned a little. "AB, that's an apple tree," He stated. "Is it?" Applebloom playfully questioned, the three giggling, making Malibu even more suspicious of what they were up to.
