A new day dawned in Equestria. Malibu's red eyes opened; seeing himself in his new room. He had been given one after being let out of the hospital after a week by his new caretaker Princess Celestia. She wanted to make sure he felt like at home, a real home.
His bed was rather comfortable while he sat up at stretched his arms and wings. Malibu smiled a little at his view out the window where a bird was twittering. The clone enjoyed being able to see the sun after not having that privilege turning to stone before. Malibu jumped out of bed, getting ready to do more with Celestia.
She was there in the breakfast room in the castle; with breakfast all hot and ready. Malibu smiled shyly at the one he now called momma, sitting down in his chair.
"I trust you slept well?" Celestia asked, serving her fruit faced pancakes to Malibu. He nodded.
"Malibu likes new room," he said softly, taking a small bite of the pancakes before tucking in more. He enjoyed the fruit on the pancakes, too.
"Perhaps I can give you a tour of Canterlot today before our lessons start, so you can get used to this place," Celestia offered with a gentle smile. Malibu felt nervous about that now, gulping his food down like a throat swallow.
"Don't know if mean ponies would still like Malibu," he responded sadly, remembering how they looked at him like he was nothing but dirt.
"It will be ok, you will be more used to the city and your new form now than before. I will help," Celestia said assuringly. Her new student smiled shyly back. Perhaps this could be a chance to find a friend of some kind.
....
Celestia got the carriage ready to go into town. Malibu sat next to his caretaker, excitement and nerves flowing inside. He was still afraid of how the mean ponies would still see him. The princess hugged him with her wing and Malibu calmed down after that. He loved her wing hugs. No one ever gave him such gentle hugs like this.
She brought him down first to her garden and showed him the many statues. Malibu especially liked the victory statue. But then he eyed one in particular that didn't look like a pony at all and it frightened him, ducking behind Celestia.
"That statue used to be Discord, a spirit of chaos. My Sister Luna and I defeated him years ago," Celestia said. Malibu's ears flattened.
"Scary Discord not come back?" He said softly. She smiled reassuringly.
"The stone magic had contained Discord for a long time, so I don't think so." She said. But then Malibu got curious about Luna.
"Where sister momma?" He questioned, pawing the ground with his hoof. Celestia lowered her head. "I'll have to tell that story later, Malbu, once you get to know our world's history better." Malibu nodded in understanding as she guided him to the carriage to go down to the town next.
She gave him a personal tour of Canterlot, introducing some ponies to him. Some seemed to welcome Malibu well enough but two in particular dismissed him.
Malibu had smiled.
"Malibu say hello," he said cheerfully, but Upper Crust turned her nose.
"Ugh, why must you speak in third person like a disordered pony? It is most undignified for an alicorn who isn't a prince." She said haughtily. Malibu felt tears coming after Jetset just huffed at him, and he cowered behind Celestia. She gave them a look. She never liked how that couple reacted to 'lower' ponies.
"He is my new student. So treat him with respect," she said angrily at the couple who bowed. "Of course, Princess!"
Celestia brought Malibu away from them.
"Malibu do wrong?" Malibu whimpered. But she shook her head.
"They just aren't in their right manners, dear." Said Celestia gently.
She cheered him up with going to a pastry store she liked and ordered a cake with some fresh tea. Malibu never had tea before and it was a peachy flavor. He decided too he liked chocolate cake when burying his face in it. Celestia giggled.
"Not too fast now," she reminded him. Malibu had burped, smiling sheepishly. She wiped his face with a napkin.
After that the two returned to the castle where Celestia brought him to the library to help with his english with a basic language book. The two just sat there in the library together for a while, their bond beginning to grow even bigger.
