Syrus, Alexis, Hassleberry, Gerard and Eisenstein looked on in horror as Nightshroud's influence possessed Jaden. His evil expression and aura had returned, and with them, his Dark persona.
"Darkness is here," he said darkly.
"No, Jaden!" cried Syrus.
"Jaden, this is Nightshroud controlling you! Yubel wouldn't want this to happen to you!" called Alexis tearily.
"We might wanna consider getting out of here," shuddered Gerard.
"Zee cannot," said Eisenstein, "even eef we flee, ze von't get far before Nightshroud takes over all!"
Hassleberry looked horrified and remained speechless. Even his dinosaur DNA seemed to freeze in fear of the Dark Jaden.
"Jaden is no more. Only Darkness remains."
Dark Jaden suddenly attacked with his Dark Panther, possessed also with Darkness.
"NO!"
They all ducked for cover.
Meanwhile, the World of Darkness was beginning to spread around Duel Academy. And from out of the ground came shadowed figures made of pure darkness. They began advancing. Jesse, Chazz and Axel saw the danger coming towards them all.
"We have company," said Axel.
"We all need to battle," added Chazz.
"Who's with us?!" shouted Jesse.
"DUEL!" shouted every student, teacher and ally.
"This is for you, Zane," whispered Missy.
"Let's get them, Marcel!" said Blair.
"Oui, ma cherie," said Marcel determinedly. "For you, Papa!"
Chancellor Sheppard and Miss Dorothy stood firm and ready, hand in hand. Harrington and Pierre primed their Duel Disks, albeit worriedly.
The Princeton Brothers growled nastily at the incoming Darkness soldiers, also keeping an eye on their younger brother.
Belowski yawned indifferently, but kept his own Duel Disk at the ready. Brier and Beauregard were also gathered with some more new arrivals: Bob Banter and Princess Rose.
"You think we can stand a chance?" asked Brier nervously.
"Definitely, buddy," said Beauregard.
"It's just like a game. Just dodge the obstacles and destroy the enemy!" said Bob in an encouraging entertainer's voice.
"I have full faith in my darling princes," said Rose.
Atticus helped front the defensive allies with Jasmine close to him, as well as Mindy, who was staring worriedly at Chazz, and Yusuke who was being shadowed by Honest.
"Where are you, Lexi?" he whispered worriedly.
Damon and Wheeler were out in the forest again, ready to ambush from behind, Wheeler wielding bananas and Damon prepared to throw cards like knives.
Professor Sartyr and Miss Fontaine stood alongside the Chancellor awaiting further instructions.
Aster, Sartorius, Sarina and Emeralda were preparing their decks of destiny, feeling confident in the destiny of their triumph in this war. Aster's deck glowed with his father's spirit, prepared to protect his son to the end.
Outside the Obelisk Dorm, Alice the doll returned to life, ready to fend off the Darkness using her Doll Chimera to stop the students being as corrupted as she once had been.
