As the party came closer to its end, Jaden and Syrus sat at a table alongside Hassleberry and Blair. They were discussing the events of Duel Academy in their time.
Others were stumbling out of the marquee to go home, clearly intoxicated after their wild reunion party. Hassleberry was very much so as well, but was still stable enough for conversation between his friends. Blair and Syrus were not particularly drinkers and Jaden was too happy to see his friends again to even think of drinking. He just dug into the banquet of the party and chatted all night and eyes were focused solely on him as he spoke of all of his adventures, even believed him when he mentioned his duels against and alongside Yugi Muto as well as a man from the future. And why shouldn't they believe him? They had all seen so many odd occurrences at Duel Academy, which was the four friends' main topic now.
"I'll alwaysss remember our first duuuuel, Sarge!" drawled Hassleberry.
"Same here!" said Jaden nervously.
"And not to mention our tag duel against those twins, the Paradox Brothers!" added Syrus.
Jaden remembered that duel well. It gave his best friend a great confidence boost. Since then, Jaden and Syrus became greater duelists together.
Blair asked of Jaden's many duels prior to her acceptance into Duel Academy, as she had only joined at the end of Jaden's second year, near the climax of his fight against Sartorius and the Society of Light.
Jaden began with his very first duel to get accepted into Duel Academy.
"It was against Dr Crowler." said Jaden. And as he spoke, he began to reminiscence the day. Including just before the duel....when he first met Yugi Muto.
"....Something tells me it belongs with you." were the words that came from the King of Games' mouth when he presented Jaden with...Winged Kuriboh.
Then Jaden told of how Dr Crowler used his Ancient Gear Golem against Jaden, in a ruthless attempt to keep him from entering the Academy. But Jaden used a combo between Skyscraper and Elemental Hero Flame Wingman.
"SKY DIVE SCORCHER!" shouted Jaden in that climax.
Crowler could not believe it when he lost that duel.
"This can't be. He was my very best card!"
Then Jaden's Wingman's effect claimed the duel, bringing Crowler's power literally down on him.
"And that's game! So I guess I passed the test, huh, teach?" concluded Jaden.
Everyone laughed at that ending, thinking of the comical look on Crowler's face upon his Golem's destruction.
And they laughed even more when Jaden re-enacted his victory dance. "I'M IN!"
Jaden was most fond of that day and how he declared Winged Kuriboh to be his duel partner. He could hear his fluffy friend squeak at him happily from his deck and by his side.
"Jaden, tell Hassleberry and Blair of your battle against the Sacred Beasts!" suggested Syrus.
"Oh yeah." said Jaden, and as he told them, that memory came back to him also.
Kagemaru had used the powers of the Sacred Beasts to make himself younger again. The three monsters, Uria, Lord of Searing Flames, Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder and Raviel, Lord of Phantasms had outnumbered Jaden and wiped out his defences.
Then Banner's card, Philosopher's Stone-Sabatiel appeared to Jaden and was used to multiply his Elemental Hero Electrum's Attack points by five, defeating Kagemaru's stolen Sacred Beasts.
