Alexis, Sheppard and Miss Dorothy found themselves surrounded by the three students, one from each Dorm and they had no means of communicating for help.
"What do we do?" asked Alexis to Sheppard.
"You and I will fight. Without a deck, Miss Dorothy, I suggest you stay behind us."
"I have a deck actually." said Miss Dorothy, a trifle shyly.
"What?"
"Being in charge of the card shop here, it has its advantages of learning the game of Duel Monsters, and the uses of the cards. I gathered a few for myself and some extras that students carelessly cast away cos they don't benefit them."
With that, Miss Dorothy produced from her dungaree pocket, her own personal deck, and also a Duel Disk lying on Sheppard's desk.
"You really wish to do this?" asked Alexis hesitantly. "You may know the game, but you've never duelled."
"I will do what I must to assist." said Miss Dorothy insistently.
"Besides, we'll help protect each other, as a union." added Sheppard, though he too looked concerned for the woman he deeply admired.
"You will cease stalling, or face the Darkness Cards!" bellowed the Obelisk Blue foe.
"And you will respect your elders." snapped Alexis, as hers and her companions' Duel Disks primed at 4000 Life Points each.
The three students followed and the duel began.
"I'll begin." said the Slifer Red student. "And I use Polymerization to Fuse Time Wizard and Baby Dragon into a Thousand Dragon!"
Thousand Dragon snorted into battle lazily with an impressive 2400 Attack points.
"I end my turn." said the boy.
"I'll follow." said Miss Dorothy. "I draw and I summon Clean Slate Lady in Attack mode.
Clean Slate Lady was summoned, sporting a pair of rubber gloves and with a mere 1200 Attack points to her name.
"I end my turn with a face down." she concluded.
"My turn." said the Ra Yellow student coldly. "And I summon White Tiger Drigaz in Attack mode!"
The tiger monster prowled into play with 1800 Attack points.
"And I'll combine it with this Equip Spell card, Claws of the Tiger. It boosts my Tiger's Attack points by 500. I'll end my turn with a face down."
"Allow me to reply." said Sheppard sternly. "I will play the Spell card, Dark Hole. It wipes out all monsters on the field."
"But that includes your companion's Clean Slate Lady!" cried the Ra Yellow student.
"But that's the purpose of being a Clean Slate lady." smiled Miss Dorothy. "The Chancellor knows his cards, clearly. When she is destroyed, my Lady's Attack points add to my Life Points."
Miss Dorothy's Life Points rose to 5200.
"I'll play one monster in Defense mode to end my turn." concluded Sheppard.
"My turn." said the Obelisk Blue. "I activate the Spell card, Monster Reborn, and I will resurrect my partner's Thousand Dragon. Then I will Tribute it to summon out Wave Spinner Wizard in Attack mode!"
The wizard of the element of water appeared with 2200 points.
"Why would you Tribute a monster 200 points stronger for another?" asked Alexis.
