Jaden and his friends had waited until Chumley's helicopter was out of sight before they noticed the boat headed for the Academy. They still hadn't noticed the rift re-opening.
"Could that boat be holding enemies?" asked Syrus nervously.
"If it is, we'll deal with it." replied Jaden.
He, Syrus, Hassleberry, Alexis, Axel and Jesse stood ready for whatever it was that was coming.
Soon the motor boat came to a stop at the dockside disembarking area. Alexis gasped.
"But that's..."
It was, to hers and Jaden's surprise, Harrington Pace and Pierre the Gambler. They climbed out of the boat, looking stern at first, but then smiled pleasantly.
"Why, a kind welcoming party!" smiled Harrington.
"It is good to see these familiar faces. I didn't know you were all working here!" added Pierre bowing elegantly to them.
"And...what exactly are you two doing here?" asked Alexis cautiously.
"Well, I was invited here by your Dr Crowler." said Harrington, "He wished for me to stay for a week as a guest sports advisor for your students."
Alexis was unsure of this. But then again, Crowler did keep things to his chest at times, and his recent capture would have left this visitation a secret anyway. Alexis felt it was the only reasonable explanation for the moment.
"And Pierre?" she asked.
"I came to visit the Academy for a holiday. My latest win in Vegas left me with a bit of a windfall, and I spent it on having a luxurious visit at the seaside. I was told that the most pleasant beach area where there is the most privacy and quiet atmosphere was here at Duel Academy."
Alexis was less convinced by this story. But she had no proof of lying and she and Jaden could see no sign of Darkness about the pair.
"Well...alright. Go on ahead to the main building." she said hesitantly.
"Thank you, Alexis." they both said politely and elegantly, and the pair walked on ahead.
"Do you think it is wise to let them stay here?" asked Axel.
"Not sure...but I cannot force them to leave. Harrington is as far as we know, an invited guest. And we have welcomed you here without proper authorisation, we cannot discriminate Pierre. So we will just have to keep an eye on them." said Alexis.
Just then, Jaden spun round at a strange sound. Up above, he could see the rift portal expanding slightly as something shot out of it and heading in his direction.
"Jaden!" shouted Syrus, Alexis and Jesse in unison.
But Jaden wasn't concerned. He smiled in huge relief. He knew what was coming. Yubel had returned.
Yubel took shape, but not in her spirit form, in flesh form, due to Nightshroud's power and slowed down to land safely in front of Jaden and his friends.
"Yubel!" Jaden cried happily and he embraced her happily.
Yubel was surprised at his enthusiasm.
"Jaden, you act like I had been gone for years. W-what's wrong?"
For Jaden was in tears of relief. He knew that he was a lot safer with Yubel back by his side to protect both him and the Supreme King within him.
"Yubel, we've been through so much since we last saw you!" he sobbed openly.
"What happened?!" she said wildly, "And where is Banner? Why isn't he part of your guard?"
