Meanwhile, Chazz Princeton was in his trailer after winning another challenge. But he was feeling far from triumphant. He was in a thoroughly depressed state.

In the middle of his duel with one of his fans, where he was already winning with his life points at 3200, and the fan's at 800, the Duel News broadcast that Chazz had lost an unofficial duel with a fellow student who was remembered as a Slifer Red student at Duel Academy. Although Slifer Reds had a more valuble reputation, it was not revealed who the Slifer Red was who beat Chazz, and at once, the fan laughed at Chazz, as did many of the other fans watching the duel.

"Chazz It Down, Loser!" shouted more than fifty fans.

Others screamed, "I can't believe I wanted to be like HIM!"

"You suck, Princeton!" shouted the duelist whom was currently duelling him.

Chazz bowed his head in shame and self-mourning.

"I just had to defeat Jaden." he thought to himself, "It shouldn't have been so difficult. He isn't a champion Pro-League duelist. I am...I'm the one with reputation...and Jaden defeated me, and he didn't seem to care that if the news gets out, I'd be a laughing stock...and it must have been Jaden or his chum, Syrus Truesdale who told the press."

Chazz's sadness turned to rage at the thought of Jaden mocking him to the news people and then to the fans booing him and his opponent saying he was not worthy. And he went into a fit of derangement.

"I suck, do I, kid?" he said, and he started to grow bags under his eyes, but extremely pointed ones, that made him look extremely sinister.

The kid took a step back in hesitation.

"Well, if I suck so much, why have I won?!" shouted Chazz angrily, "I attack directly with Infernal Incinerator!"

Infernal Incinerator breathed fire and it blasted the kid backwards as his life points dropped to 0. The kid and the other traitorous fans fled for their lives as Chazz turned away, the bags still under his eyes and his anger still at its boiling point.

"I will get revenge, Jaden." he had thought since that duel to now in the changing room.

As Chazz gazed in the mirror, he didn't even notice his evil bags, but instead he zoned out into his own mind. Nightshroud beckoned him as his audience.

"Chazz, your human friends, Jaden and Syrus have hurt you in your professional life. Your fans have turned against you, and it was so that Jaden, a Slifer Red can have all the attention and love from the world of Duel Monsters. You're alone now..."

Chazz shouted, "Who are you?"

But Nightshroud murmured something and Chazz went silent, as though nothing about the fact that some dark deity was inside his head even mattered.

"And Jaden hasn't just affected your career, but he stole the heart of the woman you still love." continued Nightshroud.

"Huh?"

"Behold."

Nightshroud produced an image in Chazz's mind. It was of what was happening right that second at Duel Academy. Jaden was there, as well as Alexis in her teacher's uniform. Jaden was talking of his times away since their graduation and at that moment, he was speaking of the defeat he recently handed to Chazz.

"I got my game on and took Chazz out. It was awesome!" he said victoriously.

If Chazz was angry at Jaden for that self-praise, what happened next made him as pale and miserably furious than he had ever been. Alexis was laughing with Jaden at the news that Jaden could beat Chazz in spite of him being a Pro-League champion, and worse still, she was clearly blushing at Jaden's presence. Apart from maybe Jaden, it was clear for anyone, especially Chazz, to see that Alexis was very happy to be with Jaden, and the look on her face was something Chazz had never seen when she was with him.
