The Duel Academy was still a most beneficial estate for young duelists around the world. It had for several years been a home to Jaden Yuki and his friends and rivals there. It was also a battlefield so many times over for Jaden's exploits, the most recent against none other than Nightshroud himself, and he saved not just the Academy but the entire world from him and the World of Darkness.

Today, Duel Academy was just about the same as it had always been. But there were some minor changes to the duelling arenas, with more seats as more people wanted to come. Plus there were staff changes. Dr Crowler was no longer the Head of Obelisk Blue, as he was now solely devoted to his lessons and was hopeful to one day become the new Chancellor of the Academy. His place for a couple of years had been Miss Fonda Fontaine, but her position as sports teacher and the Academy nurse was too much, so two years ago, she was replaced by a new recruit to the staff, Professor Alexis Rhodes.

Alexis had studied teaching a few years before returning to Duel Academy, and Chancellor Sheppard was more than impressed with her qualifications and skills, so she was instantly placed as Miss Fontaine's successor. Alexis was overjoyed and Miss Fontaine was pleased with this replacement. And thus she remained and she was also helping to end the feud between the three houses, and reminding many of her more snobbish Obelisk Blues that the duelist that rivalled Yugi Muto was a Slifer Red.

Not a day went by that Alexis didn't think about her own school days at Duel Academy. The reunion with her brother, her ordeal of being possessed by Sartorius, being a holder of one of the keys hunted for by the Shadow Riders, her journey in the dimensions...and Nightshroud....

But there was one thing out of all of these things that she never fully got over....having to say goodbye to Jaden Yuki.

Alexis cared deeply for Jaden, dodging many fellow students' offers and pleas for love, including Chazz Princeton. She rarely admitted it to herself, but deep down she knew she had a crush on Jaden. She hadn't a clue where he was now, and now that she had her dream job, she was managing not to care too much.

But every night, after bedtime, Alexis would spend ten to fifteen minutes standing outside the Slifer Dorm, remembering the days that she would visit Jaden and their other friends there. She often wondered if she would ever see him again....but she couldn't let it interfere with her teachings. And she had no idea that she was indeed going to see Jaden again very soon.

One morning, Jaden was thinking of leaving Syrus' house to continue his own travels. But he knew for sure that he would see Syrus again, because he wanted to duel him again and claim the victory.

He was just managing his clothes when he felt a chill. It was coming from Yubel's part in his soul. Yubel's spirit then materialised beside him, Banner bringing up the rear from within Pharoah.

"Yubel, what is it?" asked Jaden.

Yubel looked wary. "I am sensing an evil, a danger..."

"What? WHERE?" gasped Jaden. He was worried.

"I sense something like a prophecy...." said Yubel, closing her eyes, clearly trying to see something in her mind.

Jaden watched intently, as did Banner.

"I sense it will happen at.....Duel Academy!" announced Yubel.

Jaden's heart pounded. Nearly all of his bad tidings occurred at Duel Academy, and if what Yubel said was correct, a new threat was about to begin.

"You might want to return there, Jaden." urged Yubel.

"Indeed." added Banner, "If there's danger, it is our right to protect the young students there."
