"So what exactly is in Coruscant?" Alex inquired, her feet resting on the control panel while the ship was on autopilot.

"The Republic, my home," Obi-Wan said.

"I've never really met a Jedi before," she lied.

"Well, I'm not technically a Jedi; I'm a trainee, a Padawan," Obi-Wan revealed.

"Uh, whatever. I used to hear stories about the Jedi as a kid. I wonder if they were true," she mumbled.

"Well, I can tell you if they were," he offered.

"Is it true they can move things with their mind or something?" she questioned.

Obi-Wan chuckled, thoroughly amused after a long journey. "Well, sort of."

"What about you?" Obi-Wan asked.

"What about me?"

"What do you do?" Alex hesitated for a moment when asked that question.

"Uh, I'm a spice dealer," she said, though her delivery made it sound like a lie. It was partially true; she was a spice smuggler. It wasn't the most morally upright job, but she needed the money and had a knack for negotiations.

Obi-Wan and Alex spent the entire journey talking. Obi-Wan had never discussed his life in this way; for most of his life, he was immersed in the Jedi Order. With her, he shared distinct memories from his brief life before the Republic. However, Alex deftly avoided his questions in a subtle manner that he didn't notice until much later, when it was too late to confront her about it.

It was refreshing to talk to her. He had never conversed like this with anyone before. Perhaps not a day went by for years after that when he didn't yearn to relive it, wanting to experience that day over and over. He was grateful he had met her, humorously grateful he had crashed that day.

When they reached Coruscant, they disembarked from the ship. "I suppose you can find your way back from here?" she assumed.

"Yes, I suppose I can," he replied, his tone tinged with melancholy, not wanting to leave her.

She turned to face him, her lips curling up at the corners, though her eyes still held a lingering sadness. She opened her mouth to say something but then closed it. Finally, she said, "Next time you crash on some planet and need help, I'd be happy to help," taking a device from her pocket and handing it to him. "Press the button, and I'll be notified of your location."

Obi-Wan looked down at the device, smiled, and nodded. "Next time you're sightseeing in Coruscant, which I doubt you'll ever want to, just think of me. I'll be notified," he joked, and she laughed.

She returned to her ship, and he walked the opposite way. He glanced back at her, but her back was turned, not realizing that moments later, she looked back too.
