Alex's Pov
"They'll come for me, you know," I asserted.
"Maybe, maybe not. But will they find you?" Count Dooku's menacing voice echoed through the chambers. Yet, I wasn't afraid anymore; I had grown comfortable after almost a day.
"This is insulting, you know. Do I not deserve your high-quality jails? What is this? You've got me in some sort of Wookie chamber," I joked. "Am I not worth your expensive, luxurious jails?"
Count Dooku ignored me. Having to tolerate me for a day was probably infuriating. Meanwhile, I was just starting to have fun.
Oh, the mission went phenomenal, by the way, except for the part towards the end where I got abducted by a Sith Lord. I've been here for a day and developed some sort of meta internal monologue since I have nothing to do and no one to talk to, except for my pal Dooku here.
No seriously, the mission went great. I led the troops to the base; no one even got a scratch on their body. We didn't find anything except droids, though, but that didn't have anything to do with my commanding skills. At the end, as I was about to get in my ship, someone shot me from the back. You know, that's what I get for flying solo. All the other ships had left. They probably think I'm lost somewhere in the cosmos or something. I hope they're looking for me. I miss Obi-Wan.
"Hey, Dooku! I'm bored!" I shouted. The chamber was dark; I didn't know where I was, but this didn't look like the normal Separatist base to me. I suppose he took me off the grid. He did give me food, so that's... nice. He's got me tied up in chains, like I'm some kind of animal.
When I found myself here, I had just woken up. I was terrified; my throat was coarse, my head hurt, I was all alone. I felt awful. I went through a lot of stages. One of those was crying because I thought no one would come for me. As you can tell, this is another stage, a coping mechanism, if you will.
When Dooku first entered this chamber, he seemed to have mentioned he needed me. He still hasn't explained why. I hope there are no romantic intentions there; he's old, and I'm already committed. Not to mention the fact that he's a murderer.
As I was thinking this, he entered my chamber. "Speak of the devil," I whispered under my breath.
"Alex Solari," he said, attempting to be intimidating.
"Count Dooku!" I said, mimicking his deep voice. "What's up?"
"It's mildly amusing how you believe your humor will hide your terror," he said.
"It's mildly amusing how you believe that voice sounds intimidating and how you try to hide the fact that I'm actually pretty funny," I shot back.
"Do you actually believe they'll come for you? A spice dealer, do you really think they consider you one of them?"
"Oh, I know what this is," I said, rolling my eyes. "You know what, just give it up right now; I won't fall for it."
He completely ignored what I said and continued his rant. "Do you think they care about who gets left behind? The hundreds of clone troopers that die every day, do they even have something as little as a funeral for any of them?"
"What about you? The millions of people you've killed."
"Oh, this isn't about who's wrong and who's right; this is to show you that we're all the same. They're no different than us. But you know what might make them a bit worse?"
"And what might that be?"
"That they pretend to be."
"The clone troopers, they're nothing to them except assets to a war, weapons that they can easily just get more of," he laughed. "They didn't even care enough to give them names."
"What does this have to do with me?"
"Oh, everything," he began. "You think you're any different than the average clone? You're nothing to them, Alex. They didn't even find you worthy of a lightsaber. The Jedi don't care about martyrs. So, I will ask you again, do you really believe they'll come for you?" With that, he left, leaving me in a labyrinth.
